stealthpapes Phoenix club needs someone who really wants to make it work.

I don't know if you've followed Bury, but they ended up with two phoenix clubs, who didn't really speak to each other.

EDIT - one lot owned the club, the other lot owned the ground, I think its all resolved now.

You'd hope (lol) STAR and SBWD would cooperate and lead on it if necessary.

Just DON’T call it AFC Reading.

There's already a club called AFC Reading, albeit they play in the East Berks league!

Hound Well Smiths impending departure pays the wages for the next few months

Wrexham probably won't pay that cash up front. Imagine it'll be in installments with add ons which we'll receive over a 3 year period. The initial fee will probably cover a months pay max

Honestly this is the lowest I've ever felt as a fan of this club. It really does take it's toll on your mental health. Part of me wants protests to escalate to show how angry we are but it probably won't do any good if not make things even worse.

Me too. I'd love to see really angry and potentially disruptive protests but that probably would ensure our relegation. However, if the time should come when that outcome looks very likely anyway.......

Without wishing to sound like a certain poster, I agree.

I can't stand that knee-jerk originality-devoid naming convention that so many clubs use.

There not being a single remotely suitable ground in Reading we could use (assuming the Madejski would not be available) is a rather bigger issue though.

If other sales happen, that'll probably take us up to the end of the season, and the season ticket sales will fund us for the first half of next season...which could be a grim one.

Some concerned female on with Tim tonight bemoaning the fact that the FL didn’t force him out in 2023 as part of his sanction for non payment of fines levied. Totally forgets the fact that that would have given him 28 days to sell when he’s subsequently not managed it in 365+

Just wish it was possible for other sources to force the club into Admin as that’s probably going to be the only way out.

Carolyne Parker, she`s been one of the main mouth pieces for SBWD since the very start, she talks a lot of sense.

Season ticket sales won`t make a dent in the finances required to compete till the end of August next season. wages and taxes will still need to be paid from May till the start of next season.
June 30th is D day.
I would suggest if there`s no resolution by then it`s goodbye, been nice knowing you.

Apparently not, seeing as giving him 28 days to sell wouldn't have got past the independent sanctions panel, and if it did, would have either resulted in a massive FL climb down when he didn't, or the club being expelled from the league

With all due respect, ST sales of ~7000 would be a solid £2m, so combined with the various sponsorship, TV money etc, it would get us quite a lot further than August.

I'd say at least half of our ticket income for the season comes from season ticket sales, probably more. Getting to the point in the year when that money starts to come in is potentially a bigger concern, if we don't sell anyone else.

It’ seems clear that Dai cannot lose money on the sale of of the Club that would also means he will lose face!

So unless someone has enough money - and lack of sense to think that the Club is worth his valuation- a sale is not going to happen.

We actually need enough points to avoid relegation + 12 because Administration may be the only way to force Dai to forfeit his shares. Even then that might still leave him in charge of the training ground and other assets. But I do think we’re heading toward Administration at this rate.

Administration unlikely this season now given Smith and potentially Bindon money. 3 wins will do it or a few draws.

It depends how much is paid up front. £800,000 over three years isn't going to pay the bills for very long.

I think it's safe to say we aren't going to sell our only real first team striker and topscorer to a division rival for pennies now, pounds later, when the entire reason we're selling is to fund the club now.

Normally I'd agree, but business acumen and logic don't seem high on Dai's list of talents.

It's not like he's actively involved in running the club.

He's spunked over £300m up the wall, got relegated, had points deductions, had his name in national media and parliament with all sorts of negative connotations.

But he can't accept a reasonable offer as he'd lose face.
