Snowflake Royal He's really bad at his job.

I disagree and this kind of thing just sounds like the type of tripe people on Twitter continually bang on about. It just seems like nit picking to me. People want a Martin Tyler or Clive Tyldesley quality broadcast on local radio for Burton vs Reading.

Watch a game whilst listening to his commentary.

He gets the players wrong constantly. He never corrects an error he makes. He scapegoats some players, and lionises others for no good reason. He talks absolute crap. He ignores the game to talk about what him and Mick are up to regularly. He doesn't understand the laws.

He's dreadful.

Dellors ultimately a Radio commentator & not a tv guy. (two completely different media forms with differing requirements) - so no surprise they don't fit well when both are bought together. Plus he's a fan. Personally I'd prefer a fan of RFC doing the comms on radio , rather than not.

I’ve found Berks very hard listening for years.
Ady I can live with - at least there’s some life there.
Listen, without a shadow of a doubt, Mick is past his sell by date. Glen is a gas bag. Jem Karacan puts them both to shame.
Tim needs a bit of retraining, less about himself, needs to ask harder questions of the manager and stop that nonsense of interviewing fans right after the game.
As for Rita on the texts … nerves, gabble, stutter, cliche and false jollity. First to go in the revamp.

dellor is fine, i like him. adds a bit of personality and flair to proceedings but most importantly for me he shares his opinions. And i like that, i may not agree with his opinions, and sure he gets things wrong, but that's a good thing cos you just laugh at him. he doesn't take himself too seriously. alot of commentators are just boring, formulaic, tim can go off on a 5 minute rant about players haircuts in the middle of a match. Mick on the other hand is getting progressively worse. Since he went on his with his estate agency he clearly has less time for football, he has no clue whats going on

Greatwesternline Despite getting Olise money in the Summer and Azeez money, and having a bare bones squad with very few non academy players, we are still heavily loss making.

Gives you an idea of what would be expected of a future new owner. Absorb day-to-day losses despite making good money on player sales. Also buy new players. Also give better contracts to existing ones.

We're just a massive money pit.

As are the majority of the clubs in the English pyramid.

A quick google suggests

17 clubs Disclosed a 'material uncertainty' on whether they could continue operating for another 12 months

38 clubs Clubs disclosed they are dependent on owner funding to continue

37 clubs Only 40% of clubs had neither of these disclosures

Its ugly out there, but we look pretty ugly indeed. Cost of our stadium and academy combined with being in League 1 is a recipe for failure unless someone really wants us. Unfortunately due to our particularly idiosyncratic owner I'm not sure anyone will ever want us enough to overcome Dai's high bar for selling.

All that said, has anyone tuned into to the sky red button commentary for the midweek televised games. Now that is garbage.

Another thing about Dellor is anyone who has a differing view to him on X, even if put politely, he blocks.

Quite childish for a supposed sports editor.

I'm not saying he's doing a bad job if you consider him a TV commentator. His job as a radio commentator is to accurately describe what is happening for people who aren't watching. The point is, if you are watching, he is singularly failing to do that. If you're not watching you don't know what he's describing bares little resemblance to what is actually happening. You have to accept it on faith. But it's absolute drivel.

Tim, no doubt, listened to his dad commentating on cricket. And he was a very good one, so I am told. A game of little action and long periods of nothingness so the commenter has to talk about anything that comes into his/her head. Little wonder then that Tim can and does drift off onto other subjects when the game he is at, goes into a period of "nothing to report" such as waiting for a corner or goal kick when the player concerned take his time over it?

Orion1871 All Dai has ever done since this process started is look for a mug to pay the bills for a few months, so he doesn't have to do it himself.

He has no intention of going anywhere, and any interested parties must know that by now.

This would seem to be a reasonable narrative, I don’t think anyone believes he has any intention to sell despite what the club say. Presume by now he must have been rumbled though, if not then expect more hopeful talks going nowhere.

They are all awful, the number of times as a whole they get general facts wrong or just don’t know stuff about the club that’s already in the public domain.

So true. There are times when he sounds as though he should be parked up in a knitting club. And, when clearly bored, ends up talking about the most trivial shite.

100% agree.

His football knowledge is good. Not perfect, but good. That's why Mick, or Blakey, or Karajan, agree with him more often than not.

He occasionally makes mistakes. There's no one involved in football in any way who doesn't.

They rely on Mick too much after the match, so he gets a bit stuck saying the same thing. During the match he's fine.

Stephen Hunt was the best co-commentator we've ever had, but he's too busy, and nowadays might be a little bit too biased, even for BBCRB

Entertaining as the Dellor chat is, on the ownership front noticed Earnshaw said we turned down 1m+ bids for Knibbs

May be the most positive thing I’ve heard for months

That along with Dai contributing to the wages this month I think we will be fine until the summer.
