Positive noises but no reputable journo or ITK can see inside Dai's head. Until the ink is dry I won't get carried away. Burnt too often.

scumbag
Elm Park Kid James Earnshaw and others on Twitter basically confriming what my 'well placed sauce' told me. This is different to last time - all the key elements have been agreed with all parties (including EFL). Just the normal legal processes and tyre kicking left. Barring any more 'unexpected' developments, will be done next month.

An expedite sale points to a Redwood/Couhig sale, does it not?

Not necessarily so. In the previous update they said that legal work etc. done previously should aid a speedy sale when a buyer was found.

In fact, could well be that Couhig's legal action has prompted Dai to finally sell to someone else out of pride and/or sheer spite!

So someone has agreed another bout of exclusivity and previous works and/or talks already held with various parties has led to certain expediencies already being completed. Could be someone already known to us or who has “gone before” with Dai or could be a totally new party.

While this is good to know and sounds hopeful, just would rather not hear another word until all is completed or Dai sinks another rescue boat.

Or does a Robert Maxwell.

Not wanting to be cynical, but I can see little in this announcement that makes me think it will be any more likely than the last 2 exclusivities.

Same.

Could just be the Comms people trying a different set of words to avoid the very such complaints from everyone.

ah, for once it's gonna break our way. It's not Couhig, it's someone else ... with the means to invest, next season when we're back in the Champ, after a play-0ff victory at last. We'll get Chris Wilder back interested and on board and soon we'll be back in the Prem where we belong. Hopefully.

I just hope they:

Give Hunt a chance to carry on building
Are sensible with the contracts and signings
Back the Academy to the hilt
Get the women's team back on track
Build a roller disco

And able to splaff billions on all the unknown foreigners we’ve never heard of that Brentford, Brighton and Bournemouth won’t touch for some reason. Yes! This is the football we all want.

John Textor is about to sell his shares in Palace and he’s going to take us to the almost European glory days of 2006/07.

In reality it could be Marc Bircham’s crew, or maybe PT has come back on scene, hence the potential speed of the deal. I can’t see it being RC.

Well the words are the most encouraging they've been, but they're still only words, so reserving judgement. Especially without knowing who it is.

But if Dai likes them, and he's going to actually sell, it's probably because they're trouble.

This - despite my better judgement the tone of the wording has got me slightly excited that this crapshow may finally be over, or at least about to be replaced by another one.

Won't truly believe it until its done but the most positive things have felt in years.

I wonder if it is someone who has been sniffing around for a while, has seen the fixture list we have left and thinks that the boost a new owner would give now, could see us grab a play-off place and have the possiblity of starting the full rebuild at a higher level.

Good exclusivity has been announced so quickly. Echo others in being cautious; we don't even know who the bidder is or what their ambition would be.

Also a feeling it's now or never. If it's not this time, we go into the summer with 5 players and the Smith money running out.

Dai has to sell this time or the hope is over for everyone, including him.

Yeah, you’d think only having 5 players under contract in the summer and the club being under an embargo due to non submission of accounts has forced the sale. However, this is Dai after all.

Hard to see it being anyone other than Couhig.
He had a deal in place which only fell apart at the very last minute and it was Dai that killed it, not Couhig
He’s stayed around while others appear to have gone away once out of the picture
As a previous owner he’s got a track record with the FL and probably a tick exercise to get their approval
Work he did on the deal is unlikely to be made available to other buyers meaning he’s probably the only one able to complete the ‘quick’ sale
His legal challenge to Dai gives him added leverage

The embargo doesn’t stop us signing players in the summer though does it ? It didn’t stop us signing them in January.

I believe that in a deal like this there is generally a "war room" where all documents etc are made available to parties in exclusivity - any work done by a party in exclusivity has to added to that at the end of that period, if the sale falls through.

Happy to be corrected but am sure I read that somewhere.

We can only sign free agents and loan players. It's one thing to add a few names to a squad in that manner, but we'd need 10 of them, minimum.
