If, as stated, there are pics of Harper training this morning on the OS, I think it's more than reasonable to suggest that Harps isn't going anywhere. Now, are there any pics of SHunty training?

Those are clearly fakes. Look closely and you can see the grass is slightly shorter in the pics of Harps and Hunt showing they were actually taken yesterday....

Have you lot considered that these photo's are from yesterday's training?

Also, even if Harps trained this morning, he may well have only found out about the deal at say 11, and gone up to Boro then.

Yes, and just 3 posts ago !!

They are actually just labelled 'latest' rather than 'today'.

However there have been other reports of Harps training today.

royalexile I think his frustration will be showing due to the contingencies being taken with Tabb and Harding coming in. Both can play on the left wing. The issue with Shunt is that should no confirmed bid meet the acceptable terms of the release clause, he is likely to spend the rest of the season with direct competition which with the demise of Bobby Convey, Shunt has not had to face for a couple of seasons. It's in Shunts's agents and Shunts interests to ensure Shunt remains on a premier clubs radar. The interesting aside to Steve Coppells comments is that the exit clause is met. What the breakdown of this exit clause consists of is possibly what is the nub of the arguement. The 5mil can easily be met by a prospective Premier club. Should there be other add ons involved in the exit clause, these could be the deal breaker.

Reading have snubbed Wigan's £5m offer for Stephen Hunt which could let in Spurs, but Harry Redknapp could also be alerted by Marseilles left-back Taye Taiwo who is keen on a move to White Hart Lane. (Sun)

There is a problem with this though

HOW CAN WE SNUB £5M ?

he has a release clause so we wouldnt be able to

and even if he didnt who in their right mind would turn down £5m for a £5m-rated player who blantantly wants to leave ?

If and it's a big IF SPurs offer wasn't £5m now but in installements we could snub it. The clause is a flat £5m.

When the team coach arrives at Loftus Road, bung the driver a tenner and programme White Hart Lane into his Sat Nav

He won't leave now. I don't think he's intrinsically worth £5 million but I do think he's important to our promotion campaign and that's worth more than £5 million.

I'm not even convinced he'll go in the summer - not unless there's a mass exodus of the Irish contingent. We'll be back in the Premier League by then so he'll be playing prem football, which is what he wants. By the way, is the £5 million clause only applicable while we are in the CCC? Will it disappear once we get back? If it's still applicable after we get back there, I think the club may be more ready to negotiate.

ROYALS - NO FIRM BIDS FOR HUNT (Sporting Life)
Reading have reiterated there have been no firm bids for Premier League target Stephen Hunt.

The Republic of Ireland midfielder has been linked with Tottenham and Wigan, and has a £5million release clause in his contract.

Reports last week claimed Hunt was unhappy with Reading and suggested the Championship club were keeping any enquiries under wraps.

First-team coach Wally Downes insists that is not the case and has praised Hunt's attitude during the recent bout of speculation.

"Stephen Hunt's attitude has been unquestionable," said Downes in The Sun. "He has given it all in training and games.

"But he has been getting poor advice. Last week he claimed Steve was not telling him certain things.

"There has been speculation about him but no firm offers or bids.

"Steve Coppell, myself and the club want the best for Hunty. I want him to be a Premier League player again, with us. If that can't happen then good luck to him trying elsewhere.

"But there are people only interested in agitating for a move. The boss would never hold anything back from him."

All our players have that because it's the default and none have been rated?
