Libertine I still prefer to be owned by a Thai GILF than US venture capitalist asset strippers...

So would I. But that doesn't seem to be an option.

So what?

It's now 4 Thais we've not heard of instead of one.

Extended-Phenotype The ORIGINAL deal was to clear the debt. That was before Mi Wi Lee King and two complete unknowns decided to crash the party.

Not sure what that's got to do with anything.

That the deal has changed. Keep up.

On the buyer's side yes, but the seller's price will still be the same.

Yeah, everyone was waiting excitedly to hear Bundy couldn't afford us on his own and that SJM has opted to carve the club up between him, an old woman and two anonymous parties.

Hooray.

has clearly been a consortium from the very beginning.

That was my understanding too.

Keep up. All the evidence is that Southampton management is not happy about losing all these players. They are all seeking release from the club because they want to go somewhere more likely to give them European football. This isn't a fire sale in the normal sense, it is players exercising their desire to go.

Either way, however, it is not good for Southampton as a club that is losing its best assets is hardly a strong attraction to the quality of player they need as replacements.

There is a message out there for us but it isn't fear of a fire sale (not in this instance).

With Bunds as the majority stake holder. As the report says, along with that, things have changed.

I don't recall seeing that he was the majority shareholder anywhere? I do, however, recall this being described as a consortium right from the outset.

Anyway, does it matter that things have changed? Surely the important thing is hat they get the deal done and start to get real prep for this season underway.

As to the combined wealth of this consortium, the key is surely whether they are worth at least as much as John M was at his peak; we managed quite well then.

Get Reading Getreading.co.uk understands that Bunditkitsada is now one of four equal investors who will take charge at Reading.

The Thai tycoon was due to take a majority stake in the club after his Asian consortium signed the sale and purchase agreement on a £25 million deal on Thursday, July 17.

But the set up of the consortium has now changed with a new sale and purchase agreement having been signed last week. It is now believed to include Bunditkitsada, Thai businesswoman Sasima Srivikorn and two as yet unnamed figures.

I say again, so what?

I'm on record as not being convinced by Bundy when I first heard of the proposed deal but I'm no more worried now than I was then.

Just responding to that and further validating that things have changed.

That's because they are still trying to enter the correct spelling of the prospective new owners names into their computers!!

Not my quote.

I still fail to see how Sir Mad has landed us in more shit by selling to 4 unknown Thai wealthy types than selling us to one previously unknown Thai wealthy type.

Southampton, did well, the big clubs dont like that idea, so buying the players could mean they struggle, or even go down. They have done the same to Newcastle for a few years, and to a lesser extent Everton.

Buy RFC for £20mill, sell the few decent assets we have for about £15m, and there is potential profit there.

Not really, my reading of that was always that he was leading a bid to take a majority stake in the club on behalf of a consortium, it is ambiguous, I would accept. The way it is phrased there just looks like lazy journalese to me though.

Soton. its not what they say its what they do.They could have priced the players out the market not allowed this exodus of good players. If they avoid relegation I will be very surprised. £97 mill in pocket of owner , club could go for a song,
