2 world wars, 1 world cup Either way, the poor man's not fit to be owning our club.

We are the biggest town in the country.

We are one of the fastest growing and most prosperous towns in the country.

WE DESERVE A SUCCESSFUL FOOTBALL TEAM.

Goodbye Madejski.

LOL

Buy it off him, then.

NEWS JUST IN:

Gylfi has decided to stay with us as he doesn't get on with the Gerries.

Kitson, Doyle, Hunt and Sonko are on their way too.

And Coppell is returning as DOF.

And Madejski has vowed to give back the 100million or so he leeched from the club into funding more players and getting back into the Premiership.

Suddenly all is looking rosy!

Royal With Cheese
Handsome Man
Tails Only just found out that AE is locked....what a shocking weekend I'm having!!

Why is it locked?

Because it's generally inhabited by mongs.

Have you read this thread?

FiNeRaIn
Basingstoke Royal I think Gylfi is selling himself short if he goes to this german side that no one has heard of.

Someone suggested that the bundesliga is the arguably the best in Europe or words to that effect, which is bollocks and this team are small fry with no big names.

Gylfi is good enough to be playing for a big team, and if he made a move to top 6 prem side then fair enough, but to take a gamble and sign for a mediocre side in Germany just doesn't make sense.

Turn it down gylfi and wait for the move you deserve.

I think it would be a great move for him - a team in a STABLE league, playing for a team that led the German league a year or so ago for months and are comfortably mid table. He'd get a chance at playing time - something he probably wouldnt in the prem with the 30 man squads that exist. He would also still get to play the likes of Bayern, Stuttgart, Hamburg, werder breman, schalke, etc all how are well known teams. Its exactly the right sort of step he should take to continue his development and thats why I think he's a gonner.

I think your post shows a distinct lack of knowledge about German or European football as a whole. As the germany national team proved again this world cup, you don't need " big names" to piss all over woeful, arrogant big name teams like England.

So the premiership is not a stable league?????

I obviously just rate him more highly than you do. There were rumours earlier today that Liverpool had been watching him - now thats more of the level I believe he should be aiming for. Not a mid table german team that (and im sorry if my knowledge of german football is not up to scratch) I and many others havent heard of.

And the arguement you put forward regarding the national team makes no sense at all.

German national team is strong because their domestic league is weak and doesnt attract the best players in the world and they have mainly home grown players. The premiership is the best domestic league in the world and attracts the best players from around the world, unfortunately this means our national team is weak as the english players dont get a game.

That would be Bayern Munich who managed to fluke their way through having never been infront for more than 2 minutes in the whole tie with Man United. And who hardly had a German in their team from what I remember.

IcelandicStokie Gylfi has passed the medical and signed a four year contract. Unveiled tomorrow. The fee 6m.

Don't doubt you. This is shit news. Yes its a decent fee but most of it won't be reinvested and as a result the team becomes weaker. At this rate we will be the most profitable club in England...and playing in the lower divisions.

I am just back from a weekend away and so have only just seen this.

I really am struggling to believe that RFC would cash in on Siggy at this stage. It would almost smack of insanity as he will be worth much more than 6M if he scores 20 plus this season. I have pretty much supported the club through thick and thin and in the past I have agreed with the decisons when we let the likes of Doyle, Hunt, Kitson etc go but this would make me really wonder what the point of supporting RFC is. Siggy is undoubtedly the best young player the club has ever produced and could (if he remains fit) single handedly fire us to the PL.

I really hope the rumours are wrong - if not I hope we all give Sir John a massive BOO at the Palace game. There can be no excuse for this asset stripping. The club will fully deserve League 1 and crowds of 6000 when it comes.

What like Liverpool  The scousers are weighed down with debt on a downward spiral. Hoffenheim are very much on the way up. Its a very good move for Siggy. Its rotten for us.

1. He's gone. I've checked the German websites. It's not UR&G.

2. It is a good move for him. As an indication, they have just won their first two games in the Bundesliga.

3. There is no realistic way RFC could have stopped him.

4. The key question for us now is what happens with the sale proceeds.
