I was in the pub a few days before the final and someone was telling me how he is a die-hard royals fan, before going on to sing the praises of Shaun Long. He agreed with me when I said Shaun Long needed a hair cut

He also seemed surprised when I said it had taken me about 2 hours to book tickets on line on the Saturday morning. Apparently, this die-hard Royals fan thought tickets only went on sale on the Monday

I'm sure he regularly attends reserve matches of Football League clubs. Besides, we usually use our second choice goalkeeper (which was Stack/Feds/Hamer when reserve matches were public) in reserve matches. Our (home) academy matches are played behind closed doors, as are our reserve matches now. If he really has seen Andersen play, chances are it was on loan.

On the BBC website, there is a team-by-team preview of the Championship. For each team it has the following categories: Manager; Last Season; Strengths; Weaknesses; Key Man.

It seems we have no strengths...

Manager: Brian McDermott.

Last season: 5th in the Championship, lost in the play-off final to Swansea.

Weaknesses: Every season they rely on unearthing a low cost gem. Can they keep doing that? Matt Mills has already been sold. Other star players, most notably last season's top scorer Shane Long are likely to follow Mills out before the end of August.

Key Man: Shane Long, until he is sold. Then Noel Hunt will lead the line for the rest of the season. The Irishman has been injury prone throughout his time at Reading, but this could be a big season for him if he can stay fit

Correct - Shane is not short for anything. However, Seamus is the Irish version of James. Sean is the Irish version of John.
