Apparently a really big club made an enquiry to Gylfis agent today. Reading just dont know how valuable asset he is and would only grow pricier this season. Bad move Reading.

+ 1 Completely agree - his stock would have been even higher in the summer.

Think they should've held out to at least January, admittedly it's a gamble, but if he kept in the form that he was in..

Considering Walcott went for £12 million, I would like to think that Gylfi's stock would be at least this and nearer to the £15m to £20m mark. I am being serious too.

Hoffenheim are a really good, ambitious club, with an excellent young manager and a decent, youthful squad base.

Good move for Gylfi.

He was always a luxury for us which we probably couldn't afford. The odd moment of class, but too often went missing in games. Great player, just not right for the English game.

Good luck Gylfi, thanks for everything.

Row Z Royal
loyalroyal4life The problem is what is going to be going through other players minds now? Clear lack of ambition shown may well highlight to certain players that a move away would be in their best interests. Best player sold says it all

Or they'll step up to the pl8 and fill the void. McD will believe in his players and they'll believe in themselves.

One man does not make a team.

Think gylfi was the exception to that rule last season

I would imagine their is a sell on clause as part of the deal.

Release clause was the bad move. It would have been better for us to dictate the price when there is such interest. You would only insert such a clause to placate a player that wanted to move on. I can't believe Gylfi would demand such a clause.
