ok, apologies, its tempting to just lump all you flat earthers into the same box.
someone always does accuse him of it though, every year, and on every one of the millions of these threads.

& yes. yes i will marry you.

RFC fans are odd beings. Austin is seen as being the complete article and Mooney is derided for only having League 1 experience.

Go figure.

Its fair to say all the women(and the men) in Brendy's life have yet to see any of this proof either.

The 2008-2009 season was detrimental to the clubs finances, because we were paying out huge wages to keep the likes of Doyle, Hunt and hahnemann, to ensure we get promoted to the premier league the following season but this obviously did not happen. The club was budgeted and set up financially for that season to return to the premier league, as we kept hold of a large amount of players after relegation and was paying out inflated wages and money for championship standards to do this. I imagine the club would have made significant losses from the consequences of this season, as costs were considerably high.

Go away and check their respective goalscoring records and then come back and let us know if you stand by that comment.

Austin seems to get better service... and I still cannot find where he has played at a higher level than League 1 [which is one of the major problems quoted regarding Mooney].

For me - I think players from lower leagues are well worth a punt [Kitson / Keegan / Stead...].

TBF, Austin hasn't had a chance to player higher yet. Mooney has been with us for two and a half seasons so has had plenty of chance to if he were considered good enough.

Muppets on here now making excuses for the 7 million we got in for sig, everyone said stay calm and see what happens in January then we can question the clubs ambition. January comes and now there are noises about not being able to afford it? We're being lied to unless this is some sort of tactic to smokescreen swindon to actually barter them down. If not, John Madejski has all the parallels of what Michael Knighton did to carlisle im afraid, continued asset stripping with no investment in the team.

JM has no money left. He is skint. Any money left over from the Gylfi transfer will go toward covering the running costs of the club. This will allow him to remain as the chairman without having to invest any further money into the club. You would have to work out what the shortfall is likely to be year on year before you could calculate future player sales.

I can see where Finerain is coming from here. It is true everyone was saying lets see who we buy in January. Of course it might happen. We may get another striker in. If we don't see any investment then its certainly clear to me that Reading FC's only current ambition is to remain solvent and "the ambitious" club of years gone by is well and truely over.

Reading FC...received the highest amount in outgoing transfers than most of the prem( arguably the greatest league in the world) and ENTIRE football league in the last 3/4 seasons, can't afford 1 million-ish on a league one striker.

Well run club. LOL.

Royal Monk This is exactly why i didnt renew my season ticket , i was fed up of spending my hard earned backing the club/team when the owner only leant his money and took it back to the detriment of the club/team

Grow up.

You're money was spent buying the right to watch specific games - not bankrolling the company.

Once you've seen the games you've paid for, you've got no financial interest in the club at all.

As we've discussed a thousand times - when SJM put his money in, he had no guarantee whatsoever that he'd see any of it back.

Like most others I'd like SJM to be able to find a reasonable buyer at a reasonable price, but don't confuse that with the emotional interest that we've all got as fans.
