Libertine The results from yesterday weren't bad for us. Would I have liked Villa and Newcastle to draw? Yep. Would I have prefered Wigan had lost? Absolutely! Would a better outcome been a QPR loss? Of course.

But...

We are a single point from being out of the zone and hopefully have one or two new names on the roster by Feb. 1st...nothing has really changed, including us needing to continue to get results.

Love the use of the word Roster there Libertine! Agree with everything there and I fancy a draw against Chelski on current form

Silver Fox If we stay above Wigan and QPRofl we only need to best one of these, so any result is fine as one of them will drop at least 2 points

Concentrate on winning our own games, ignore everyone else

Sorry, what did you say? I wasn't listening..

Royal With Cheese
MmmMonsterMunch Don't agree at all there Sparta. QPR have remained unbeaten against really tough opponents. They will fancy their chances against anyone now.

Apart for anyone in the Third Division.

It will be really interesting to see if they're up for the fight against bottom half opposition.

Will also be interesting to see how they replace Ryan Nelson.

If they manage to get Christopher Samba that would be one hell of a signing .

Samba must be on silly money, can't see him gambling that on a relegation battle.

Rumoured to be between 100k-120k a week, QPR have met his minimum release clause so they can talk to him. He is a mercenary for money so can see them getting him if they offer the right deal.

Now that the transfer business is done for this season. Who's for the drop?

Odds as of 01/02/2013:

Reading - 1/2
Villa - 8/13
QPR - 8/13
Wigan - 5/4
Saints - 7/4
Newcastle - 11/2
Norwich - 11/2

Reading - Brought players in, although mainly unknowns and speculative signings. McD has instilled a bit more resilience since the new year, home games against relegation rivals could be key.

Villa - Young and inexperienced squad. Haven't done much in this window and confidence is low. Lambert has got his work cut out.

QPR - Loadsamoney gamble. 'arry could get them motivated but they'll have to go on a good run nonetheless.

Wigan - Gone down the player loan route this window. Unpredictable, Martinez has been here before though and has rescued them from these positions.

Saints - Picked up form gradually. Good showing at Old Trafford even in defeat. Almighty managerial gamble, and will the players adapt to ensure enough points are won?

Newcastle - Spent a bit and needed to. Lost their leading scorer but still have a few top half Premier League quality players. Will be boosted by the win at Villa.

Norwich - Becchio wasn't exactly a huge signing and they look stronger defensively than they do going forward. Goals could be an issue and 7 pts clear is not enough to be comfortable given their squad.

Unfortunately I'll go; Reading, Villa and QPR bottom 3. Bookies to get it right.

They still give us no credit at all though despite currently being 17th. Ah well under the radar....just how we like it!

I think I'd add the spammers into the mix. They really are in a rut that could suck them right into the relegation battle.

we are certainly badly in need of a couple of other sides dropping back down into the mix

Thing is they'd have to do a Blackpool in order to go down. Could you really envisage them only getting another 10 points? I just can't see it. 3 from 6 IMO.

Us, Wigan, Newcastle, QPR, Saints & Villa.

Backed us to stay up at 11/4 before Newcastle game and still think that is a good bet. Surprised we are still favourites to finish bottom as Villa and Wigan have much worse form. Also backed Villa to finish bottom. QPR might buy their way out of it unfortunately.

If we can keep the performances up, I can see us staying up.
I can see a few problems though:
1. We are not actually playing that well for most of the match.
2. Pog gets injured, we are in trouble
3. Teams are going to come around to our "comebacks" and will not fall asleep.

On point 3 I disagree - I actually reckon we've managed put the fear into other teams minds for the last 15-20 mins after our recent shenanigans as they know we're going to come at them.

I think you are right - Chelsea would have known about it, and it panicked them

Chelsea obviously never read the script

But I kind've disagree with you munchers, we have been relatively gung-ho all season in the first twenty minutes or so too
