Royal Rother People get so ridiculously over-emotional about sackings from football management roles these days.

It really is a bit pathetic.

I don't like it or approve of the practice but one would assume / hope that BM has had his bank balance significantly boosted by recent events. Go out and buy a nice villa somewhere, have a bloody good holiday and set yourself up for a very comfortable retirement, when it beckons, would be my advice.

Personal pride might be hurting a lot right now, but that's not fcuking bad for 3 years hard graft and a somewhat unfair sacking from which, in reality, your dignity remains unscathed.

As a bloke who's always had his his head screwed on I'd be pretty confident that's how he'll see it.

It's not just three years though is it? It's 13 years at a club where he has been in almost every role, where he has friends and where he has been involved in the most successful period in it's history.

Almost any other manager I'd agree with you but I think this case is slightly different.

Sorry, not sure it came across but I was intending to refer to the media boys reactions to the sacking (not BM's own) - and the 3 years in management I highlighted because it was only in that time that he will have been under major pressure and national scrutiny, plus earning big money.

FWIW I'm guessing:

2000 to 2009, average salary £40k

2010/11 - £120k pa
2011/12 - £240k pa (Bonus £400k for promotion)
2012/13 - £700k pa

Redundancy / compensation - £1m

As I say, absolute guesswork but I doubt it's a million miles out.

That 3 years will have been so different to the other years, although I certainly wasn't suggesting he wouldn't have grafted all through....

....Oh, you'll know what I mean I think.

Had a dream last night that Di Canio was chasing me around Reading with a shotgun - so for that reason, i don't really want him as manager any more

That's as reasoned as any argument I've read on Hob Nob in the last week.

They threw the book at this player for doing the same as Di Canio!

"Maybe he saw it on the internet" - yeh, maybe he saw Di Canio do it!
