Hoop Blah Probably the right balance in that starting xi from Dolan even if we are lacking the forward to play up tops on their own. Hunts work rate and relative pace makes him the most suitable, and I'm pleased to see Robson-Kanu, McLeary and McAnuff combined in the team too (one of the combinations McDermott should've been using at times earlier in the season when it was suggested we didn't have the players to play 4-5-1).

I'd expect a comfortable defeat though.

Yeah on balance I think I'd largely agree with this. I might have liked a slightly different central midfield but am happy with the return of Shorey and the change in formation. We normally compete pretty well against Manchester United so I'll go for a battling performance but a 2-0 defeat.

Royal Lady I've had a few bets - Rooney to score first, McCleary to score first, 3-1 Man Utd, The draw and and over 6.5 goals. If one of these doesn't come in, it must mean we win!

We don't want to score first....it generally all goes tits up when we do!

Interesting to see Shorey in - Harte has done OK, but thought Shorey was one of our best players for first half of season ... so very surprised he got dropped. Interesting to see that ED has put him back in.

Yep that's about my take on it.

Positives:
4-5-1
One of the central midfielders will be more attacking
Shorey is a better passer than Harte and can get up and down the pitch a little better
ALF might have an impact from the bench

Negatives:
Leigertwood is immobile and can barely pass
Karacan gets caught chasing out of position too much and can barely pass
Hunt's not great

Maquisard
Scutterbucketz Got a very bad feeling that we are going to get creamed.

500-1 being offered for MU to win 10-0... seems quite tempting now I've seen the teams :(

Jesus! We're not that bad.

What can you get for 6 nil?

A paltry 28-1 with William Hill - hardly worth the effort of the mouse click

Yes, you should be watching the Rugby like any normal person.

Probably but these sort of games, sacked manager, big team v little team often produce unexpected results. So I'm mental too, but who cares! :P

Out of Alf, Hunt and Blackman, I'd have started Hunt too. He'll run at them and get about a bit - bring ALF on as impact sub if we're still in the game for the last 20 minutes!
