The Goat was fed One Unfounded Rumours and Gossip post, one new signing. 8)

Obviously I knew this because I'm shagging Frankie from The Saturdays and she wanted to move closer to The AfterDark.

Nothing confirmed yet sonny-jim.

Although I do hope you are right.

EDIT: Now confirmed so well done sir.

Must admit, the number of moves he's turned down over the past few years in order to see out his man city contract is mighty impressive. Top pro.

A brighton fan on North Stand Chat:

I remember when we signed him I was chuffed, but my excitement was tempered by a concern as to his attitude and how much we'd actually get out of him, what with him not having played for so long and dropping down to the second division for the first time. All those fears were blown away by the sheer quality and consistancy of his performances though. His pace and energy, his positional sense, his poise, control, crossing, the timing of his overlaps, his strength on the ball and ability to power past players, and just the simple, assured, error-free reliability he brought to his position. An absolute class act who we are going to miss immensely. I doubt we'll see a better leftback at the club.

I'm gutted

How quiet did the club keep this?

Can't remember a signing being quite so out of the blue for a while.

Can't find a single bad word anyone has to say about him on there. Rare.

I hate the fact our signing is going hand in hand with "redknapp pissed off" he's a phwucking media whore.

A manager doesn't get a player he wants, oh well, hardly news. He's just using it to keep his name in the papers

Really?

number 1 Nigel Adkins fan winchester_royal on Brian McDermott's signings Yep, too often over the last 3 years we've gone for ST stop-gaps rather than LT solutions. I don't blame Bri for that, given his budget constraints, but just like he takes the credit for the short-term upturn I'm afraid he also has to take the flak for the lack of foresight.

Good player and hope he succeeds.

This is the one position in the team(left back) where we literally had no options. So my point is we had to sign a left back, surely if the club have the financial power Anton has stated we could have signed a young decent left back for a good fee , especially as we been scouting Europe all season. This is just a short term move.

VaLOLid, but there's also a need for experience to go with youth to get out of the Championship.

If in 2 years time we find ourselves without a left back under the age of 35 and having to play Stephen Kelly there again I promise I'll come on here and slate Nigel

Oh yeah because signing an ageing Jason Roberts was awful for us wasn't it?

He's in the champ team of the year you fool.

Fairly good signing I guess. 33 at the start of the season but only on a 1 year contract so I guess the club have been sensible on using the parachute payments to cover whatever obscene wage he is on
