Out of those I've seen play, in no particular order....

Jimmy Quinn (gets it in!)
Dariusz Wdowczyk (one of the classiest players I've seen don the hoops)
Shaka (beats Steve Death for me as I only have vague memories watching the latter when I was a boy)
Parky (always 'Mr RFC' for me!)
Simon Osborn (prob best passer of the ball in central midfield for me & not been bettered since)
Jamie Cureton (most natural goal scorer we had & my wife thinks he's lovely....)
Steve Richardson (for a tiny guy, seemed to have Zebedee's springs in his boots when he jumped & a high pitched shout you could hear anywhere on the South Bank!)
Kevin Doyle (my favourite of the grand selection of Irish lads we've had play for us in the last few years)
Paul Canoville (stood out as a class above; I remember being very excited by his performances in the criminally short time he had playing for us before injury).
Michael Gilkes (he could be frustrating at times, but on his day no defence could live with him running at them!)

Others that sprung to mind were; Trevor Senior, Shane Long, Glen Little, Martin Hicks, Dylan Kerr, both Hunt brothers, Barry Hunter, Darren Caskey, Martin Butler and the mighty Brynjar Gunnarsson.

Gordons Cumming It's interesting what people put on their lists.

Someone put Billy "effin" Whitehurst!

Met him a few times, thought he was very entertaining, on and off the pitch

Are we talking "best" players or are we talking "favourite"? There's quite a difference between these for me.

Favourite, surely? Otherwise how would Murty and Parky make it into anyone's list?

Id like to add Duberry, I remember him tackling someone so hard the game was almost called off back when we were in the Prem. Cant quite remember who it was against though.

Assuming you're not being ironic, fair play for including The Goat. A top professional and gentleman who the club treated extremely shabbily in order to save money.

Certainly not being ironic and agree with your comments.

Just after Pardew left, I and my young niece went to the Sunderland away match. We flew up to Newcastle and, by an amazing stroke of luck (that my niece to this day still thinks I organised!) we were not just on the same plane as the players but we were sat amongst them. Kevin Dillon and Shaun Goater were absolutely brilliant with my niece and made a real fuss of her. They were an absolute credit to RFC. The way that Goater was subsequently treated by the club was shameful and it was embarassing for RFC that his English playing career ended that way.

I used to work at Legoland and I had to turn Goater's kid away from a ride because they were too young. He flipped out and grabbed me by the throat.
