Very glad about this, I think he is going to be very important for us this season. And personally I would play him upfront as he looks far more dangerous. Wasn't he a striker in his early days anyway? Personally I would like to get rid of Pogrebnyak and get a new striker too, but looks less likely now. Add a versatile midfielder to that and I think we will be doing well.

winchester_royal That would be hilarious if he was our 4th choice winger...
,

Well, if he is 4th choice, it's pretty inevitable that 2 of the 3 in fornt of him will lose form, get injured or drive their Ferrari into the Kennet at some point in the season. With his versitility, he's pretty much a shoe in for the matchday squad every game next season.

HRK has made the right decision to stay at RFC as so many who have left in the past for more money have just fell by the wayside.

I would think there is a get out clause in his contract to move at the right price should we not be promoted this coming season.

SPARTA Sharp also heading back South today. Touch wood that one will be done next week.

Friends of mine sat next to Sharp at the cricket at Trent Bridge on Wednesday. Him and his mates were absolutely hammered at the end of the day - and were saying that he's off to Leeds. No idea if they were lying/taking the piss/telling the truth, but that's what they were all saying anyway.

Delighted HRK and Pearce have signed new deals. Could both be big players for us this season.

Best signing of the summer so far. This guy will get 15+ goals playing either striker or just behind

I came to this thread to see how opinions have changed.

I bumped it for Snowball.

Key points from this;

- I note my refusal to say "yay" and instead mentioned money....

- Snowball was as much of a belmont then as he is now.

Let's be fair, HRK was a revolution at the end of our Premier League season and I suspect many of us thought he'd push on and tear the Championship, now for whatever reason he hasn't lived up to that expectation but he certainly earned that contract, it's not like he was playing like he is now and the club turned round and offered him a 20k/week deal.

True but HRK and others have been too comfortable and have lost the desire and hunger.

LOL @ all the HRK h8.

"Yeah we're rubbish because of HRK, nothing to do with successive sets of shadowy owners and hugely poor performance from successive managers not to mention a series of disinterested signings signed up on vast wages"

That's vastly over-simplifying the attitude of fans to HRK. You should work for the BBC.

I am struggling to come to terms with him being a revolution! I am not even sure that he was a revelation, which is probably what was actually intended to be said?

Absolutely.

The guy "lost it" but was looking really good.

Were all these very clever chappies (in retrospect) saying he was rubbish back then?
