Ian Royal I'd be amazed if we let him go for nothing when he'd leave a big hole in our squad.

I am sure we would like 3M (supposedly the release clause number) but if no one will pay it then cancelling the contract by mutual consent would seem a good option (if he does not want to stay) and save us 50K a week for 3 years (7.5M or thereabouts) which can be used to buy/pay a new striker.

Think this would be a big mistake. Hes the only real striker we have. It looks as thougfh all the decent strikers that are available will be snapped up ( not by us). Pog will be great in the champ. If we rely on Alf it will be a disaster

Great in the Championship...based on ??....not even sure he will adapt that easily to Championship style football...he has still a lot to prove that he is a top level striker...don't see queues of teams trying to take him from us ...all IMO of course

Reading4eva Guys he is toilet. I will be happier if we shot him and went after someone more hungry.

If Hunt and Pog were both out of contract, I would of kept Noel over him all day long

corrected for you, x

Its so simple it hurts. Give the guy better service which we will have with a more improved team in a lower league and he will perform better.

The only real question is whether he is up for giving it a go. And to be honest, little soundbites and hearsay is all we have to assess whether he is or not until we actually start the season, which isn't exactly conclusive. Even the interpretations of his performance in pre-season aren't concrete; once we are underway his whole attitude (if indeed it is negative) may change.

Nobody has a clue how its going to turn out, all we do know is that he has shown flashes of brilliance when given the chance and that he wasn't the only player to understandably lose confidence in a difficult season.

So let's not roast the fella before he's committed a crime. He could equally be this seasons top scorer as he could be a flop, people here are guessing the picture without all the jigsaw pieces in place.

Yeah, but it's all about sticking your flag in one court so you can >bump< this thread in 10 months' time and laud it over strangers on the internet.

Edit: He's going to set the world alight, by the way.

Maybe you can give him a roasting with Pog, instead of Pog.

I'll let his dad pull out first. Unless of course he's up for a Twix.
