Either:

1) Wake up in London terribly hungover, rush to Paddington/Waterloo/Ealing (whichever is closer), train, cab to the ground and (if time) a few beers in hotel/jazz, few quid on first goal scorer, game, town, turtle, parents house.
2) Go to parents house on Friday after work, wake up fresh as a daisy on Saturday, lift to ground, hotel/jazz, few quid on first goalscorer, game, town, turtle, parents house.

Kudos to guy travelling from the Netherlands!

Have lunch at 12.00, walk to the bus stop for 1.15-1.30 and wait around for the footy bus. Get to the stadium an hour before kick off and wander around/read a book waiting for the players to come out.

Haag Royal Eh? Like to see you try it mate. You seem to assume I live at Schiphol. I walk to the station, train to Leiden, change, then train to Schiphol. Check in etc, get to heathrow eventually. Then - coach to Reading Station, 26 bus to Southcote then 5 min walk to my folks. That's before I jump on my bike to cycle to the ground

Nothing to do with price. Not looking for sympathy as it's my choice but dont suggest it's easier than driving from the Midlands. I'd swap it anyday

Ignore him buddy. Apparently if you get a flight you must live in the airport and have a private jet to avoid any kind of delays. You certainly have more commitment than me, and what I'd imagine, a lot of people on here.

9.30 wake up
11.00 leave Northamptonshire
12.30 arrive Earley and have lunch with Dad
2.10 drive to ground
2.25 park
2.45 arrive at ground
2.50 warmly greet fellow (nameless) season ticket holders around me
3.00 settle down to watch, full of mindless optimism
3.15 depression sets in (not always)
3.45 toilet break
4.00 settle down to watch second half, full of mindless optimism
4.45 say goodbye to nameless friends and agree to repeat ad nauseum
5.15 back to Dad's house for meal (he likes to eat early)
6.00 half a peroni
8.30 home
8.31 greet missus
8.32 TV on
11.30 bed

11.30 drive from Marlow to Madejski
11.50 arrive at Madejski, head to hotel for a beer
12.10 head into ground to our table in Royal Suite
12.10 - 14.50 partake in 3 course lunch with wine and beer, quiz, player appearances and watch the ground fill up
14.50 head to our armchair seats in the upper west to watch game
15.45 either back to suite for coffee & biscuits or a beer in one of the bars
16.00 back to comfy seats
16.45 back to suite for post match snacks and wine/beer while we await the arrival of Sir JM & MOTM
17.30 head back to car and crack same old joke about sharing the driving as wife drives home....

bobby1413 Has anyone here got a number 6 from town down to Acre Road / Whitley, and walked to the ground? I'm guessing this is a pretty smooth running route as it avoids A33, and can get on at Market Place.

Thinking of doing that on Saturday.

Gunny Fishcake
Haag Royal Catch the plane from Amsterdam Schiphol, arrive in Reading via Heathrow T5 Heathrow-Reading raillink coach. Bite to eat with my folks, jump on the bike and cycle to the ground about 30 mins away, watch Reading win/lose/draw, cycle back, and if I don't stay in Reading the weekend, lift back to Heathrow and back in Holland before it gets too dark. Not so simples.

Respect !

I worked in Amsterdam for a year or so, used to travel home Friday back out there Sunday, got the door to door down to 3.5 hours. I've spent longer on the M4 getting to Junction 11 from London.

Get up about 8am and potter about the Flat,
Watch Soccer AM,
Have a couple of mates round for Beers and the midday game,
Go to the WTU for a swift one,
Get to the Mad Stad for bang on kick off,
HT pint (Worst in Reading) in the Jazz,
Watch the second half,
Another Beer at the WTU,
Home and watch SSN, Evening match and MOTD before passing out on the Sofa!

What can I say. I'm the only one who will speak the truth! Others either think that RFC are still in the 3rd Division OR cannot aspire to Rhodes as they have said he was useless on this site and don't wish to be proved so obviously wrong.

Anyone on this site who would not have Rhodes (or another good striker) is not a fan who wishes the best for the club!

Some of us are realistic, we don't have £10m+ to spend on a Championship striker.

If it's a home game then bus to the top of Green Street, walk the full length down it to stretch my legs, pie & mash lunch, then if I've time for a pint I'll have one, if not into the ground about 45 mins before kick off.
