Elm Park Pasty 1. James Lambert. Purely because he looked like he could be somebody, and yet it seemed to depart him.
To be fair, if he had lived up to his potential he wouldn't have played for us.

And having met him on the Paddington to Reading train a few months ago - he's a complete belmont.

Strangely enough, my mate and I encountered him at Piper's Island once. Had to stop my mate from lamping him cos he was so obnoxious.

Lay off James Lambert...he went out with my little sister and offered me free tickets to Grimsby away! Legend...

Not at all. Racially abused Asaba. Before your time though m8.

Asaba joined us in '97 mate, four years after I saw my first Reading match.

"Coca-Cola Cup" 3-0 vs Northampton, Quinn, Lovell and Parkinson with the goals. Still have the programme 8) .

Never hated any Reading player but here are 5 I didn't warm to:

Billy Whitehurst - Didn't like him, probably wouldn't have told him to his face though
Steve Moran - Big flop
Jerry Williams - Can't even remember why
Michael Meaker - Just thought he was useless
Stephen Hunt - For believing his own hype

Paul Brooker - ugh, half of hobnob would have played better

Emerse Fae - never played in a RFC win

John Oster - utterly irrational but the guy was a flake

A couple of years ago John Oster tweeted something that was obviously meant to be a DM to a female. He quickly deleted it and claimed someone had got hold of his phone when he was in the toilet.

If Nick Griffin, Ian Watkins and Robert Mugabe signed for Reading the answer would still be Robert Fleck.

Hate is too strong a word.
Some players just aren't very good, after many years of watching us grubbing around the lower reaches of English football, I can deal with that.
What pickles my walnuts are those players who think they are too good for my club.

My list of Big time charlies

Matt Mills
Liam Rosenior
Greg Halford
Steve Archibald
Danny Guthrie (soon to be an ex-royal)
Royston Drenthe (soon to be an ex royal)

Reading fans. A lot of them. Don't hate any of our ex-players. Why should I?

Stephen Hunt made my blood boil.

Useless player who thought he was amazing, forgot we gave him a chance after Brentford released him.

Looked like Frodo

Played like Mr Woof the keepy uppy dog who ran around chasing the ball

Ran down blind alleys

No creativity

The Peter Cech incident

Did I mention he was sh*t? The number of relegations from the Prem he has had proves that

YateleyRoyal
maffff Halford, Roberts, Rosenior.

Thought Mills would get more mentions

What's wrong with Rosenior?

He made the cardinal sin of taking the place of a fans favourite who was injured. I just don't get the "hate" for Rosenior. Probably says more about the nature of Reading's support more than anything else.

As for Lambert, a friend of mine worked for his father's firm of solicitors and James was always on the scrounge. He had talent and ability but he severely lacked the most important 6 inches. No surprise that he wasted everything

Please do not get me started on that pikey hobbit. One of the least talented footballers I have ever seen. All he ever had was work rate and effort. When that disappeared following his come and get me plea, that is when we should have ditched him. I have seen far better and more skilful players in NL football.

Re: Stephen Hunt - he was a great servant to the club during the 106 season, had a decent couple of spells in the side when we were in the PL and was then unplayable for the first half of 08/09. Shame he did that interview on Soccer AM at Xmas 2008 and then spent the 2nd half of the season not trying, otherwise if he'd have continued his form and then got the move away in the Summer, most Reading fans would have had a very different opinion of him.

Leroy Lita - laughable. Selfie on the job!
Trevor Morley - out and out cheat
Neil Clement - not a footballer
Matt Mills - Last Saturday we saw what he is really about
Steve Sidwell - despite what people say, he was as bad/disinterested as Shorey and Doyle were once he knew he was going.

Andre Bikey- for throwing his toys out the pram, and his shirt onto the ground during the failed playoff semi-final against Burnley. He promptly got sent off and joined Burnley.
