Kuhl's proven himself, and Obita has shown he's better at left back again. With Norwood supposedly coming in, it looks like poor Shaun Cummings will be out of the team again without doing anything wrong.

Royal Ginger Hmm, as we did on Saturday, how much have Huddersfield sat back and flattered us?

They haven't to be fair, they've tried to get forward when they could. Wells had a good chance to seal it earlier.

The big difference is that we've looked a lot more balanced since half time. Cummings did nothing wrong, but he's a right footed player at left back. Kuhl has given us some tempo.

Disappointing result, but so many inexperienced and new players to this side, results like this are bound to happen. The second half performance was really encouraging, but there's 43 games left and we've got half a team to come back from injury. I suspect there's a couple more signings in the offing as well.

After that first half we deserved 0 points from the game regardless of the 2nd half.
A truly pathetic 45 minutes.

2nd half was much better.

That was my first game of this season and I can't say I noticed any real change from last season. Defensive mistakes and a lack of any real threat at the other end.

There are reasons to be positive, the youngsters were confident and gave it a go, but there's a distinct lack of quality, especially in the middle, which is going to cost us a lot of points until we get Williams, Guthrie and karacan back.

Wells looked very good for them, as did the cheating bastard Bunn. Their keeper looked dodgy and I'm disappointed we didn't give him more of a test.

Hector had a poor game today. Wells had the better of him from start to finish, but he's young and can chalk this down to experience.

I liked the look of Tanner - unpolished, but confident on the ball with quick feet.

Blackman played like kebe on an off day. At times he looked very good and a serious threat, at others he looked like crap.

If Pearce's chip had gone in it would have been the greatest goal ever scored at the madejski

Hector was a liability all game. The only great bits of defending were when he was recovering his own mistakes.

Thought Akpan was miles better today. Maybe him and Hector swapped lucky boots after Saturday.

He looked a bit rusty, but worked hard, showed some good touches. He went up front alongside Pog and they didn't have any understanding, which you'd expect. I guess he's ineligible for the Forest game? If he's fit enough, he could do with a start against Scunny. He'll be a good signing for us, once he's fit and had a chance settle in.

Akpan will get pelters tonight for his part in the first goal and he was beaten far too easily, but he was played into trouble a bit. He lacks Kuhl's quality, but second half he didn't really do much wrong. A couple of poor passes, lost a couple of tackles, but not in dangerous areas. Hector struggled, but he's young and Wells is a quality striker. He'll learn. Taylor is too lightweight to play in the centre of midfield, so I presume that's why he's playing wide, but he went missing tonight. Didn't have a very good game.

Kuhl is going to be a big player for us one day. Comfortable on the ball, breaks the game up well, plays at a good tempo, got a great range of passing and gets forward. He won't get near the first team once Guthrie, Karacan and Williams are fit, especially if we do sign Norwood as well, but it's good to know we can rely on him if we need to.

Huddersfield did a numbers on us, their front three in the first half were the difference against our makeshift midfield and defence. Ady Williams reckoned they coasted in the second half, maybe he's right, but I don't agree. We grew into the half and we had enough opportunities to get something out of it. We will have more games like tonight this season though, so let's not get too ahead of ourselves. Three away trips coming up this week, don't be surprised if we have a couple of poor results.

Anyway, time to head home, hope the few updates from the game were useful to those who couldn't make it.

20 minutes in were the first groans and signs of booing. Small boos at final whistle.

He even said he was leaving and failed miserably at that too.

Think a couple of chill pills needed by some here, we all know the state of play at the moment, we have continued on from last season with an absurd injury list, just about losing our entire first team midfield, but we have a very talented academy and some of the lads will step up and perform at this level, we are stabilising at this moment in time, and we will have some hiccups, but be patient, with Adkins at the helm we will come good.

None where I sat in Y25. Anyone booing needs a long hard look at themselves & ought to consider supporting another team. They gave it everything 2nd half.

This really surprises me - we were up back in Y23 and the mood was of overwhelming positivity - crowd infront of us got restless at sideways passing but were mostly then shouted down by people telling them to get behind the team. I certainly felt that the mood had shifted to one of getting behind a team of youngsters, rather than bemoaning those who don't perform, and really enjoyed it!
