Wycombe Royal
loyalroyal4life A result that has papered over the cracks (which will reappear again on Saturday)

It didn't paper over any cracks. We beat the team that was put in front of us and even with our bad form it was a game we were expected to win comfortably (which we did).

However in the eyes of most fans, yourself included, it was a no win game for the team. Lose and Adkins has to go, etc....win and it was only Blackpool and it papered over the cracks.

Give them a break, accept the comfortable and move on and support the team at a time when they really do need it.

Couldn't agree more, listened on the radio and while it didn't sound a great game, we beat them 3-0, their biggest defeat so far this season and for it just being Blackpool, so far they have beaten Cardiff, almost held Derby, held Middlesbrough, held Brighton and held Wolves.

They had potential to get something out of the match regardless of the fact they seem nailed on for 24th, while the Adkins out brigade seemed to almost be urging on a defeat just so Adkins could get sacked.

Soulless atmosphere for large parts against a team who were probably the worst side at that level to have ever played us (and I feel sorry for Jose Riga and the Blackpool fans for having Karl Oyston ruin one of the better clubs around).

Having said that, we were never troubled defensively which was a nice foundation to build upon. With the U21's playing Brighton tonight we should hopefully get game time for likes of Guthrie, Williams and Ferdinand which can only be a good thing going into Blackburn which is a really difficult match.

A win is a win and the confidence it gives the players can only help in our next game regardless of how badly they may have played to earn that win.

Blackman looked good when he came on.

Might be some club history I'm not aware of, but weren't they in League Two when Oyston took over?

15,091 against Millwall this season. Thought Saturday wasn't a bad effort given only about 300 visiting supporters and our recent poor run

Millwall was a Tuesday night mind you, m8. I guess it is on paper the least attractive fixture of the season which would explain the poor crowd.

That's his best position, attacking midfield.

Schards#2 Not the greatest game or performance but hardly surprising off the back of three heavy defeats. Given what had gone before, even against the bottom side, the priority seemed to be avoiding making an stupid mistakes. But we got the clean sheet, three goals and three points so you would think most people would be happy.

Posters citing it as the worst they've seen have short memories, there were games last season (the likes of Charlton and Bournemouth at home) where we barely mustered 2 shots all game, at least we are creating several chances a game in every game for the first time in a while.

On the down side, the fact that Pearce and Hector barely won a header all game is worrying.

MOM Akpan, like the game, unspectacular but effective

I would go along with this - thought he was execellent
He and Norwood really look a good combination and were always looking to help each other out and make themselves available

I think the 150 Blackpool brought may have something to do with the low attendance

Agreed with Akpan MOM, alot of what he does goes unnoticed because he's not pulling up any trees. Does the simple things well, breaks up play, keeps the game ticking over and provides the occasional bustling run through the middle. Thought he was one of our better players at Bournemouth aswell.

Still didn't paper over the cracks then?

At the start of the season I thought we'd be mid-table, we're currently 8pts off the play-offs and 6pts off relegation, that's pretty much mid-table.

Next up we have 2 very winnable home games, against teams who have 1 win each away from home.
