floyd__streete Gr8 result. Sensible team selection. Saw the goals on SKY, gr8 strikes.

Disappointing to see crowds continuing to fall though.

Schards#2 Much improved performance that augers well for the rest of the season. As players return from injury, the likes of Kuhl, Taylor, Edwards, Tanner etc can take a step back but will have benefitted from the first team experience. With the addition of Williams and with Obita pushed forward, we looked a far more balanced and potent attacking force and could easily have scored 5-6 despite not turning up for 30 minutes. The defence is still a concern but if Ferdinand could get and stay fit I'm sure he'd improve it as he's likely to be solid at this level and bring some lacking experience.

15 goals in the last 6 home games, if we can tighten the defence up (which is an easier job than finding a way of scoring) and take the game to teams more away from home, there are potentially good times ahead. Interesting to note that Williams, Cox, Murray, Ferdinand and Mackie, all Adkins signings, all looked the part last night. Maybe 'fans' should stop moaning, start coming to games and get behind the manager and team as we come out of a period of uncertainty, rebuilding and injury problems and look to kick on with a decent squad. I've not been to many away games this season but at home it's entertaining, exciting football with lots of goals from a team that appears united and committed, what's not to like?

Perhaps crowds would hold up if the club made it a lot cheaper to come along, £30 on the gate is a nonsense. It was raining so who would make that choice?

I no longer go, but would rather see the club filling the ground, under 14k is a sad situation.

Agreed on that 2-0, there's surely got to be room for some flexibility by the club on gate prices when it's obvious attendance is going to be low.

Which reminds me of something that made me sad - I don't remember the game for certain, I think it might have been Bournemouth last season (1-2). Collecting my tickets from the office and an old guy is in front of me in the (wrong queue). He inquires if any tickets are available, to which he is quoted £28.

'oh £28? can't I have one of the cheaper seats?'
'That's all we have available sir.'
'Oh, I'll have to leave it then.'

I know, we just can't just let people in for free, but it was sad that this old chap had to get himself home again (he wasn't moving easily at all) without seeing his team play.

I'm suggesting that come matchday, or the day before, when it is obvious we are looking at a sub-15000 crowd, we could offer gate tickets at £20 to try to put 2000-3000 on that attendance and make the atmosphere that bit better. What on earth could be wrong with that?

I'm not sure what that has to do with ST holders, who make a decision to buy 23 tickets at £x per game at the start of the season.

Why didn't you offer to buy it for him?

Nope not having it, if you want to go to watch Reading on the cheap buy a season ticket end of. If the club sets a precedent of having a fire sale on tickets when the attendance is expected to be low everyone will wait till the last minute and get them cheaper. Same as everything if want something last minute you pay more; in football, air travel, rock concerts etc etc etc. I cba to look it up but i am sure if you are a member card holder and bought the ticket 2 weeks before the game it would have been far cheaper than the 30 quid on the gate

ZacNaloen +1 for more identifiable hair cuts on our players.

I tend to look at the boots for identification :?

Hair and boots, yep. Funny that Michael Hector was the only one with black boots, which made him easy to spot (that, and he's 6' 4" tall!)

The matchday price for an old fella is £22 and he could have got it for £17 if he'd sorted himself a membership

Get used to low crowds, and when ST prices go up next season Woodley Royal dont complain.

That crowd shows how few ST RFC actually managed to sell, as it includes all ST holders, many of which are kids at about £100 a ST, unsustainable.

ANd in the scheme of things we have decent ST prices, in some cases we are too cheap IMHO

Btw...

Our tannoy is utter gash. It's impossible to hear anything.

I watched citeh vs United the other day. I heard their guy crisp as day on the tannoy announcing the subs.

All I hear at reading is "blamammfmdmsd reading is blqmdmdmdmdmdmd"

Just pointing out that interest level in the club seems to be dipping somewhat this season. Perhaps successive sets of owners displaying a lack of openness or even dare I say it 18 months of uninspiring performances under an overhyped management team have put people off :!:

For my own part - since you brought it up 72 Bus and Marty - I relinquished my ST for many reasons not least because I don't enjoy the experience of being sat amongst small-minded people such as yourselves, no offence :!:

Ian Royal Hang on Gunter was at left back? Bloody hell I need to concentrate harder on who's who.

You lost all credibility there ....

He never had any.....

Jokes Ian. It must have been a little bit confusing because Kelly is a right back wearing no3 (traditionally a LB's number) and Gunter wears no2 (RB number) and was playing on the left.
