oxf*rd Nora this is mental. I'd have laughed my arse off if he'd gone to Forest or Charlton or Wednesday for example.

I hope the deal is good, he's genuinely 32 and is fit. I spose you've got to trust Clarke, but if it doesn't work out he's bound to get absolutely slated for what potentially looks like a bonkers desperation move.

Still, at least i can safely say i was right about our top priority. Who'da thunk it (anyone with a functional brain).

If the only thing that happens here is that we get to hear Yakkity Sax before games (or as goal music) then it will be a successful deal IMO

We need a striker and we've got no cash. Could turn out to be a master stroke. Or another Ferdinand (either of them).

Time will tell, and as I'm beginning to trust SC, if Yak's good enough for him, he's good enough for me.

He looks in good shape tbf. We haven't got much money to play with, so bringing in some experience isn't a bad thing considering the season we're having.

I like this move. It is a low risk-high reward signing if we got him on the cheap...

If he's on the bench as an alt for Pog it ain't that bad a bit of business. Been plenty of games this season when Pog hasn't been 'on it' but there isn't a viable option for us to throw on.

One would hope he could teach the likes of HRK and Blackman a bit about playing up top too.

Yak + one other (Vibe?) wouldn't be a bad day tbf

Safe to say, we've stolen the limelight for deadline day at this moment in time, who would have guessed that yesterday?

Happy with this, not sure why all the negativity.

It's not like we are in a promotion push and if he scores a few goals to help move us up the table, then job done.

He can help get us to the summer and then hopefully the Clarke revolution can begin.

Actually pretty happy with this signing - cheap and a short term deal, experienced, good goal scoring record wherever he's gone. As long as he's still fit and not another Ferdinand signing it's happy days!

I think it's worth noting how early in the day this has completed aswell, really takes the pressure off us if we're to look at any other additions before the window closes.

Gilksy He looks in good shape tbf

Eh? Is that a judgement based on 1 picture of a bloke with a jumper on or have you seen him play very recently.

if the former then I look in pretty good shape tbf. Will keep the phone close by in case RFC call me

I think more of us would be positive if we hadn't assumed he'd retired a couple of years ago and his alleged age was remotely believable.

I'd say it's a bit of a joke signing but then that would be a massive underst8ment.

If he's 32 then so am I.

Sweet, always loved the yak. Not overly bothered about how old he is or if he's any good tbh. He's a great signing

Just don't get what the issue is here.

His age is what it is. Why the doubters? He was playing for Portsmouth when he was 21.....and scoring goals.

His record is mighty impressive. It looks like a short term deal. Guy clearly scores goals. Its probably our best option working in financial constraints.

It even ticks Ian Royal's magical wanted list - win win.

Regardless, it's a bit of life in this otherwise turgid season.
