I'd rather they stayed down for the simple reason that I'd rather visit Bournemouth than Derby, Middlesbrough or Norwich.

There's very little not to like about the side that Eddie Howe has assembled, in terms of how they play and the attitude of the club. Their fans do seem to have a chip on their shoulder about Reading, so it would be nice to have another chance to try to beat them - the last time was in 2001 at Dean Court. Having said that, we've not exactly played them every season in that time...

Apart from their number 13 who spent most of the game throwing himself to the floor.
He also tried to get Hector a second yellow by feigning injury.

If this player is deemed good enough to go play up front, should they get promoted, He will soon get found out.

Assuming you're on about Callum Wilson, who we were also interested in before his move to Bournemouth, he's currently on 19 goals and the 4th top scorer in the Championship this season.. So I'm gunna go out on a limb here and say he'll be good enough for the Prem.

But yes he was cpunt for trying to get Hector a second yellow. But Hector had him in his pocket all game.

Apart from when he stood rooted to the spot allowing Wilson a simple tap-in.

P!ssed Off Bournemouth were utter pcunts.
Hope they come straight back down.

If their owner keeps pumping money in like he has been then they could well stay up. The stadium will need a lot of reinvestment and sharpish too.

To be fair to Bournemouth, I'm happy enough to see them go up. It is hard to imagine how they will cope with their stadium being so small, but good luck anyway.
I just hope then then that their fans will drop their attitude problem and envy that they have towards us, and now they just might stop treating the Royals fixture as their annual cup final.

I agree with you, good luck to them I say, and not sure why they seem to hate us so much. They have even been saying that our PA system was deliberately cranked up after the game to drown out their cheers and celebrations, no our PA "entertainment" is always that bad, you weren't being singled out for special treatment.

Not sure the ground capacity has much to do with revenue, other than the corporate side of things. Bums on seats count for diddly in the cash rich Premier league it is all about the tv dosh.

Likely to be another Blackpool. Will play pretty enough football for the first half of the season and cause a few upsets with the big boys, and then get found out in the second half of the season and struggle when better, more gifted teams and squads have sussed them out. Hope they enjoy the ride though and remember all that glitters is not gold.

As did the rest of the team, and if I remember rightly it was on the backpost so it was either Ake's or Pearce's area of play. Obviously Hector can still hold some of the blame as I'd assume he was told to man mark him all game, but without re watching the highlights I'm not sure who was marking Wilson at the time.

No one

And I think Hector was more to blame for the original shot being unchallenged.

Didn't Wilson also try and pick a fight with Hector over on the goal line on the west side ? Hector tackled him, Wilson got back up and shoved his head in Hector's face leading to a yellow card ?

Thought it was a good game and a good warm up for us for Saturday. Very clear early on (certainly first 10) that they were the best we have faced for a while - they were out of the blocks like rats up a drainpipe.

Last 20 was all Reading - cant believe we didn't score. I think it underlines where the money needs to go in the summer - yes we have strikers, but we need ones who will shoot rather than dribble it round the box.

Dave-Royal Wow I was right with the 18,900  only 17 Fans out. 18,917 it was.. and the game Reading Played well

Assuming the attendance was recorded correctly, Is it based on tickets sold or those who turn up?

Would suggest the former...

Crikey, it does look a bit empty. Definitely overall a couple of thousand stayed away. Don't tell Bournemouth our fans couldn't be bothered to watch their rivals though :D

I was speaking with a Southampton supporting colleague and we both shared the view that despite not really caring about Bournemouth we found it odd that they see us both as rivals for whatever reason.

This their equivalent of our 94/95 season when we finished second and any other season would have gone straight up.

Please let them choke at the final furlong and feel our pain of twenty years ago. Still not completely got over it :|
