Just buy a goal scoring CF. Then with a 2 goal lead, it dont matter if the goal keeper gifts a goal in the 90 min .

genome Fact is if Bond had not made that individual error, we would've won the game and none of you would be harping on about Clarke.

It doesn't quite add up.

Fact is, he did make that mistake, costing us 2 points and resulting in the comments about Clarke as ultimately it is his team

But how can Clarke legisl8 for individual errors?

The team otherwise looked organised and good, and fully deserved to win the match.

By not signing error prone keepers. By playing a team capable of regularly scoring more than 1 goal. By playing some actual wingers to give us some width. By not settling for a 1-0 win before the whistle blows.

He picks the team and if it's vulnerable to last minute errors that's still his responsibility to fix.

Vision
As I said far too early to draw concrete conclusions and despite the results there are some encouraging signs, there's just a nagging doubt in my mind about whether Clarke's mentality is suited to building a successful Championship side.

Greed - though unusually I disagree with you on the technicalities.
My experience with Clarke goes along with the lines of 1) Better than Adkins 2) Maybe Im wrong 3) We're rubbish. 4.) couple of nice signings from Hull 5) Are we really still playing Blackman, HRK and Norwood?

I agree that the excitement about the U18s/U21s disappated a lot quicker than it should and that Clarke's Chelsea/premiership youth policy from last year was part of that. But maybe our youngsters aren't all that after all? Tish deserves his chance after the Hartlepool reports last year, but who else? (FTR, I quite like Jake Taylor). I know part of being a football team is local sentimentality, but if the youth aren't up to it - even with the cup runs - then we don't play them - simple as.

I dont agree that winning games 1-0 isnt a viable policy. McGhee did that right up to the point he jumped ship and our '2nd in the championship' season was almost characterised by the games such as 1-0 Away at Middlesborough. It IS, quite frankly a viable tactic (and I rate Wednesday) - perhaps not when you have a virtually untried CB partnership, but it IS a tactic nonetheless. It is even more a tactic when your squad is 'new' as ours is this year.

I have plenty of doubts about Clarke - none of them are as major as Adkins just frankly not caring any more, but I do feel he has an out. if we hang around 19th much longer, he might just get frustrated, point at our drunk JM and our eccentic Lady S as his outs and stop caring. If he does that, then Im not sure where we'll be without the manager who has signed so many in such a short amount of time. I hate it when managers do that

Adkins problems were two fold, the first was that fans were split on losing McD, it was as near as impossible to keep us up after the defeats to relegation rivals.
Then in the summer the shite p really hit the fan when it turned out there were major money problems, and the owner buggered off.

But of re-writing history there, 2-0. The summer the shit hit the fan was actually the winter. We signed Drenthe and Bridge in that summer just after relegation and everyone was optimistic about going str8 back up. Anton then did a runner a little while later.

Zingaravich disappeared in September and the money problems hit then.

Adkins was able to add players to the squad yes, but the issues with the club affording them was an underlying issue.

There's also some doubts over who was bringing in those signings of course, in the same way as there are doubts over McDermotts involvement in the Pogrebnyak deal.
