John Smith I hope the Yeovil game is away as I missed the league game there a few years back and always wanted an excuse to go.

genome So Coventry are in the south section while Cheltenham are in the north section.

Makes sense...

I would imagine they have split the League One, League Two and U23 teams into north/south separately so it could well be League One has more northern teams and League Two have more southern teams, leading to the odd split we have in the EFL Trophy.

that is exactly what they did.

Deadlock If you can find an accurate list of category 1 academies I'd be interested.

Based on what I can work out:

  1. Arsenal (PL)
  2. Aston Villa (CH)
  3. Blackburn (CH)
  4. Brighton (CH)
  5. Chelsea (PL)
  6. Derby (CH)
  7. Everton (PL)
  8. Fulham (CH)
  9. Leicester (PL)
  10. Liverpool (PL)
  11. Man City (PL)
  12. Man Utd (PL)
  13. Middlesbrough (PL)
  14. Newcastle (CH)
  15. Norwich (CH)
  16. Reading (CH)
  17. Southampton (PL)
  18. Stoke (PL)
  19. Sunderland (PL)
  20. Swansea (PL)
  21. Tottenham (PL)
  22. West Brom (PL)
  23. West Ham (PL)
  24. Wolves (CH)
The teams, originally, invited to the EFL Trophy were the sixteen highest placed teams from last season that had a Category One academy. If any one of the teams that rejected the invitation had accepted, then we wouldn't be involved.
