windermereROYAL Referee did well for me, got very little wrong. we`ve had worse much worse this season.

Probably the best referee we've had in any home game this season.

Saw it twice on replay from different angles, a dive in my opinion, but appreciate it’s all about opinions. One thing I think we all agree on was this it was a dreadful performance

It's never a dive at any angle. Blackman grabs his foot.

This. you could argue that WiFi overran the ball but it was a penalty for sure.

Special mention for the ref tonight who was abysmall - completely out of her depth.

Special mention for the ref tonight was the best we’ve seen at the SCL all season.

Let the game flow, has the respect of the players and was very clear in her comms.

Shrewsbury pen was spot on and I can see why she didn’t give WiFi given he’d lost control, was looking for it and didn’t get a call for my the Lino who had the best view.

Tbf on the reading pen she looked straight at the Lino and checked with him before giving the decision. It was his call to make

Impressive that Hunt inherited one of the best coached teams we’ve had in a long time with a clear defined style of play and has utterly destroyed that in the past 2 and 1/2 months.

Poor performance, outplayed by a bottom 4 team we should comfortably be beating with home advantage. I note the attendance was given at just under 8k but must have been closer to 6k in the ground. Can’t blame those STH’s who stayed away.

5 points in 6 games just not good enough , now playing slow hoof ball , can not blame Hunt out of his depth , why take off two forwards when we need to win the game .

It was a very poor game, but it’s another point. The Shrews are fighting for their lives and outplayed us.

I don’t think we have a chance of making the playoffs and until the ownership is sorted out I can’t get too upset about a sh!t performance.

We have a decent first eleven and then it’s mostly kids. I find it remarkable that we are as high as we are. Saying that, the overall quality of the league is poor.

PistolPete
Sutekh Totally awful. Don’t know what the **** Hunt does with them in training but it certainly isn’t football, been going backwards since Selles left.

We went from a top championship/bottom premier league manager to a guy in his first job.

This is the reality

Selles wasn't a PL manager - he learned at RFC and was still learning when he left (as a L1 Manager with 18 months experience). That's the reality.

Hunt's a coach - he should be able to see things arent working and at least try and fix them. As much as I liked him as a player he's a shit manager who seems too stubborn to change things. (sound familiar?)

Not that long ago, we had comments like we're going to plummet down the league, I can’t see where the next point is coming from, etc. Three games unbeaten later, 5 pointsin three games.

We've been going through an injury crisis. We've barely played a single genuine fullback all season, Hunt's had his top scorer, and only senior striker sold from under him, three of our main goal/chance creators from last season are sold, playing in defensive midfield or out of form and spent half the season injured.

We were never really going to sustain a play off push through the back end of an exhausting season, Selles or otherwise.

I know doom and disaster is a Reading fan way of life, but we normally save it for two or three defeats on the bounce.

Incidentally, Hunt's record is better than Selles record at the same point.

When Selles left we were 6th, after 13 games without him we are now just 3 points behind 6th.

I don't think its a disaster considering many of us thought we may be fighting against dropping into the relegation zone most of this season

Yes.
It is also frustrating, these relatively small margins that would be easy to fix if we were in any way a normal football club.
Imagine having a different striker on the bench last night.

Don't get me wrong, Hunt is doing an ok job. If anything he's exceeding my expectations given he's lost our top scorer and we have a thin squad, I just don't see him as a long term answer/AKA him being the manager to get us promoted. Love the guy, always will but he's got a lot to prove though for me to change my mind. He's in reality acting as a care taker until someone buys us out and brings their own people in.

Style of play is horrible, it's less effective and we create fewer chances. Craig isn't a right back, Wing is wasted sitting in the base of midfield. He's not changed it and goals are drying up as are points.

It's insane to even think about promotion as long as the Toad is owner. Its simply not an option.

One incident last night stood out for that made it a night to totally forget, towards the end of the game the ball reached Charlie Savage around 30 yards from our goal without a player near him and he shanked it first time into the air in no particular direction.
He`s been one of our better players this season and it was most unlike him, I think the players were has frustrated as the people sat pissed off in the stands.
Seriously hoping this was a one off stinker. they happen.

Agreed on awful performance and yet the last home game (vs Bolton) we were excellent, hard working throughout and deserved the (late) three points. Keeping the faith with these boys. Subs were car crash though. Bodin must be like, wtf is going on here lol.

That is depressing - although I can't really say much as I was one of those STH who didn't go.

I posted on another thread, that I have reached my limit now with it. Last season there was the hope of a takeover, where I genuinely believed there was a deal to be done. I went and enjoyed each victory, and when we did lose, I still had positivity that better things were on the horizon.

As this season progressed, I just don't want to go anymore. I feel defeated by it and it seems inevitable to me. It feels like years now of seeing this club sink, with players leaving and financial difficulties.

Each victory and 3 points, just makes me shrug my shoulders a bit. As I know that this club's future is not just unclear, but looking bleak.

It would be VERY different if Dai Yonnge seemed genuinely intent on selling. But he doesn't and I don't believe he will.

Part of me is just emotionally drained about it all. The whole 16 + 18 minute stand up was previously one of real anger and passion, a bit like previous games I attended. Now it just feels like a lost battle and completely powerless.

No amount of publicity, SBWD efforts, protests, MPs can stop this.

Yes, very good, all the big calls right. A change to see a ref skip rather than trundle about the place.

+1 and didn't seem to take any shit from the players either which I liked. Better than the clowns we usually have.

Can't say I blame the fans for staying away, it's been testing everyone's mental health and going on for too long now. However we do need to keep fighting for this club, the more supporters who do that then the more likely we'll get these scumbags out.

If we're mathematically safe and can't get top 6 then I'd back another pitch invasion if progress on a sale isn't made. Money will run out this summer without a club sale, I really fear for us if a buyer doesn't come in before next season.

Who cares about a a few points deducted and it won't hurt the season outcome.
