Anything north of 65 points would represent a very decent season, particularly with the current injuries.

Hudds, Wycombe & Orient all losing to sides at the bottom.

Admittedly poor today but these games are never shoo ins this time of season.

Easier to comment on first half performance as they were right in front of us. Both played well and Stickers settled in well with a couple of early clearances

Toothless and just not ruthless enough against a poor team and that’s why we ain’t good enough for the play offs.
Nearly all the results went for us too with Stockport and Charlton drawing and Barnsley Huddersfield and Orient all losing. Only Bolton won who are now 5 points in front of us in the last play off place so that was a big 2 points dropped. Not that it really matters cos we ain’t good enough for the play offs.
In saying all of that it’s still been a good season considering the state of the club and a young paper thin squad.

Double edged sword, as why would we want to go up this season anyway?

So what happens next season?

We're going to lose a number of players.

This is for the long haul.

Under what circumstances? Nothing has really changed.

New owner soon = start extending contracts and then making signings when the window opens.

Under Dai = continue to be oxf*rd, lose loads of players, replace them with free journeymen and sell our best to pay the bills. Sooner or later not be able to do that and cease to exist.

Recent draws - Shrewsbury H Exeter H Crawley A - 3 points should have been 9 - would put us in 5th
Absolute waste of a superb opportunity
Not convinced its the players so much as the management

Never that straightforward, particularly at the business end of the season.

Look at Huddersfield, Orient and Wycombe today.

Plus Burton A
There's a couple more, but these stand out.

But its clearly a side effect of having a very young team that is stretched very thin in places.

While there are individual mistakes - Bodin squares for Camara, 2-0, for example - there's no way I'm ever going to really blame the players. I'll point out flaws, sure, but take Strickland, making his second league appearance as the oldest player at the back? Blame him? Give over.

Manager could be a bit cannier, a bit wilier, but its only his first true managerial job.

So, yeah, it's the situation. It's a squad we literally cannot bolster. It's players who wouldn't be in this position in any normal circumstances.

It's Dai.

The biggest positive is that the players and manager should learn. Wareham is a better player for the last two seasons that he might otherwise have been. We've somehow picked out gems - maybe that run of good business may come to an end.

Orient having a truly dreadful run of form.

And on that note, Udders have given Duff his P45.

I'm really not that bothered about how the rest of the season goes as long as we're picking up a few points. We're not going down and realistically, we have little chance on the playoffs and even less were we to fluke promotion.

It's a young squad and the rigours of the past 18 months are starting to take effect. For me, the rest of this season is all about ticking over until the point that the takeover does or doesn't occur. If it doesn't, we're pretty much oxf*rd, if it does, it's all about next season and we should have the nucleus of a decent squad to build on.

At the start of the season I thought we might make the playoffs if we sign a few players in the summer window, but as we know it never happened.

My sole expectation has been survival and I honestly thought if we finish higher than last season that would be success.

Yes, yesterday was oxf*rd dire but we’ve all seen plenty of sh!t games in the past. Games against sides fighting for their lives are rarely entertaining. Take the point and move on to Wrexham.
