I was at a Cork City FC fans forum during the week.

Cork City will play Sunderland on July 30th in Cork.

The prospect of Reading coming over was also discussed. Club officials confirmed that it is verbally agreed between the two clubs that friendly takes place in Cork between the teams but as yet no date has been set.

http://www.ccfcforum.com is where City fans can be found if this friendly is confirmed and if any of you have qustions.

Be interesting to see where we fit it in as we are now looking likely to play in a pre-season competition in South Korea.

Although Reading FC have officially denied at least twice that such a friendly was part of the Bennet deal.

when/where have they denied it?

Also, does anyone have Reading's arrangements so far for their pre-season next year?!

It's all in the wording, "Not part of the Bennet deal" does not mean there wasn't a verbal agreement. Just nothing official.

That sort of thing is usually announced as the season ends.

Last summer, we had about a month between the first friendly (against Didcot, 14th July - a week after the World Cup ended) and the last (against Feyenoord, 12th August) with 10 friendlies in all and a tour. Even with a week or so abroard, that leaves 23, 24 days to get a good handful of games in.

Don't forget in past years we've had a friendly with a big club, that we've had to pay financial guarantees on to that club to make it happen.

This year we will be the big club - with some small club paying us financial guarantees!
