I think to find a 5ft7 Forward against a 6ft + CB from a 40 yard pass would be slightly harsh to be labelled a hoof. The 3 instances discussed were the 3 best bits of play. Especially him breaking past the forwards to set up Doyle for a tap in. Also Harps must have something about him as he’s consistently picked by first AP and now SC. Think of the huge number of time S Hunt gave the ball away on Sat compared to Harps. People always criticise Harps for passing sideways but at least he keeps the ball, which is more than can be said for many players at the club. Also he is the consummate professional, many players have commented how he always last off the training pitch. His league goal record is as good as anyone apart from Kitson. IMO it comes down to the fact he’s the best of a bad bunch, all the clamour for Bikey and Marek together but it would never work. We play best with a high tempo and we can’t achieve that with 2 CM who are talented but don’t have the energy/stamina Harps will bring.

What's the point of all this speculation. Coppell will decide and whatever team he puts out will have a distinct Championship look about it. Reading just don't have the quality players and if you do manage to stay up you'll need a big injection of cash or else you'll all be having the same discussion this time next year (or worse, you could do a Derby).

If this is the team that comes out on Saturday I will be dissapointed as Spurs would rip us to shreds.

Back 4 and front 2 I agree with, not much option there unless you swap Rosenior for Murts for the experience.

Midfield is lightweight City.

Little has no pace and no defencive skills, wont last 60 mins either.
Convey is just a lightweight that cannot takle for love nor money.
Matty again, cannot tackle and probably still cannot last the game out.
Bikey therefore has to hold the whole midfield together and do a hell of a lot of work to cover the others. He also posseses no organisation skills, which is not good. I am a great Bikey fan but cannot see him having all the extra responsibility of 3 attacking midfielders around him.

My midfield would be:

Hunt Matty Harps Convey or Little Bikey Harps Convey

2 creative and 2 blockers, although the original post looks great going forward it would be no good if we say scored 4 and they score say 6!!!

Little is unlikely to start as he picked up a knock in training yesterday. He'll be on the bench at best.

Anderson

Golbourne
Bennett
Sodje
De La Cruz

Kebe
Fae
Bozanic
Halford

Seol
Vasilev

I thought I'd choose some of Coppell's amazing new signings which have taken us forward since 2006.

Fae suspended and banned from the ground  so I'd suggest we revert to 5-3-2 and stick Peter Mate' in as a third centre-half.

Haha, you raise a very good point...then again we could recall John Halls and get him to fill in instead?

Can we extend the deadline? I'd just like to see Eric Obinna Chukwynyely get a run out up front.

Neh, sorry mate - signings made with the view to play in the Premiership only please, even if Eric did have his moments. Coppell was getting the majority of his transfers right around then - or his scouts were.

So Harper is more "heavyweight" than Matejovsky and/or Bikey? I'll have one of what you're smoking ta.

FWIW

Hahnemann
Rosenior Duberry Cisse Shorey
Hunt Matejovsky Bikey Convey
Kitson Lita

Pace is important - Cisse, Hunt and Rosenior here for this.

To be honest that side has just as much chance of scraping a draw as the team CoppeLOLLOL puts out on Saturday

I tell you what, you just use half of my post (the bit that doesnt include the explination) so that you can have a go at my post.

I stand by the fact that the midfield suggested by loyalroyal is far to lightweight and my suggestion has more of a balanced midfield.

I expect better from a mod.

Please read my full post and not the edited highlighs from Platypuss and you will see my reasoning. Which I see you ultimately agree with as you have two blockers and to creative midfielders in.

We must have any two from 3 (Hunt, Harps, Bikey) and any 2 from 3 (Matty, Convey, Little).
