Went to the game and thought we were lack-lustre. Disappointed with central midfield and both widemen. Neither Convey or Kebe managed a decent cross all night.
Ivar was probably our best player and was commanding in the air. Lita stayed on his feet which was more than Kebe managed but didn't look sharp.
Both goals were well taken...the first by a Kebe volley and the second a well controlled strike by Karacan...but we did not create much more.
MOTM was Forest Green's number 11 who ran us ragged at times.
Really friendly club at FGR and I wish them well.

Met Steve Coppell who had the decency to talk very pleasantly and with self-deprecating humour to my little boy. He asked my lad where he came from to which my boy replied"England"...bless. Coppell's attitude towards us just reinforced my view that he really is a very decent man. Glad he decided to stay.

We weren't so much lack lustre, more just comfortable really. Two decent strikes for the goals. Can't agree with Pearcey about our centre-midfield as I thought that Sigurdsson and particularly Karacan were very good. Convey showed some nice touches. Didn't quite share everyone's enthusiasm for the FGR number 11; he can run but has absolutely zero end product. Much the same as Reading's number 7.

Ian Royal
Rawlie19 Reading: Hahnemann; Rosenior, Shorey, Bennett, Ingimarsson (c); Karacan, Sigurdsson, Kebe (Spence 81), Convey; Church (Robson-Kanu 59 (Bignall 80), Lita
Subs: Andersen, Spence, Bignall

woo hoo I don't have to cry

Hang on a mo... so did Robson-Kanu go upfront and then have to come off injured?
Does anyone know anything about Spence? I've never heard of him.. I think.

Lives opposite me. A fairly solid right back who I hope will make it so I can have a nother claim to fame!

And so on to Havant & Waterlooville tonight and the other half of the squad (except Gunnarsson who's crocked until September).

I will be amazed if that is the case.

And you're all boring. These are just training sessions, and they are doing exactly what they should be; getting our players some match fitness. If we played Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, ManUre in our pre-season then all we'd do is be run ragged and end up knackered for the start of the season. A gentle start that is gradually meating better teams leading up to Villa is the way it should be done.

The Sun is running with it again today. But, of course, it is mere coincidence!

I bet that was Les Afful, was he REALLY short? Also I think they've just signed Kaid Mohammed who was at Torquay last season and he was dump too.

Les actually came on for their number 11 - and you're correct AP in that he's really short
