Like most options, number 13's had a shocking season.

Armstrong for me too.

Ingirmarrsson. Since he's been injured we've been rubbish. Always reliable at the back, does his job well and brings the ball out of defence and passes it to his target; you cannot say that about any of the defenders at the moment. We've missed his leadership and ability at the back, and at the start of the season when we were doing reasonably well he was there. He cannot be critisized or put to blame for the bad performances and results since christmas and all the other players can.

For once I agree with almost posts to date. Armstrong has it, but Ingimarsson would probably have been my choice had he played through the season. We have sorely missed his presence.

I think this is the most one sided player of the season for quite some time.

Even though Doyle has scored a hatful of goals he's been far too inconsistent to get it.

I can't think of anyone else in the team that will get close to Armstrong unfortunately.

Schards#2 Like most options, number 13's had a shocking season.

Agreed, number 13's had a shocker.

It's between Doyler and Stretch for me. Cisse coulda been a contender had he continued in the attacking (ish) midfield role that brought five goals from him and, at Bristol City, the most dominating CM performance since Sidders left. Ingi, too, was up there but injuries curtailed his bid. Same for Noel.

What about underachievers? Number 13 (at home), Rosey (after a bright start), S Hunt naturally, Doobs, Bikey latterly, and the two prodigal old boys.

Ho-hum performers for me have been Marek (despite flashes of brilliance), Harps (he was over-criticised, but also lacking spark), Long and the two keepers.

Never expected much from Kebe, so I can't say he's been disappointing. Gunnar as well, just what I expected - a continual gradual decline in his already-limited effectiveness.

Bright sparks? The young 'uns - Kelly, Jem and Henry, but mainly Pearce who will always lack pace but is a solid and surprisingly neat defender. Add Stretch and Tabb - who I think looks like a potentially really good, neat, brave defensive central midfielder - and things don't look too bad for the future. Assuming that future's in the Championship, that is.

Armstrong,

he has reminded me of the way Nicky Shorey used to play for us before his big head couldnt fit through the players entrance, great presence on the left wing getting forward, reliable at the back. didnt realise he nearly had to give up football at Sheffield utd due to a really bad injury.

Armstrong, undeniably. You know exactly what you're going to get, week in, week out - which is a good, solid, honest performance without an ounce of ego or delusions of grandeur.

Armstrong should be POTY.

I do think he slightly overrated by a lot of fans. Defensively he is great but going forward he is absolutely shocking. Now the team is out of form we need to keep the ball and build from the back. You would expect the Fb's to be semi-cultured on the ball and start attacks but Stretch certainly cant do that.

Imo he slightly better than Shorey defensively, we have got to bare in mind we havent seen Strech in the prem. But Shorey was far superior going forward.

I want to see him work with a decent, reliable left-midfielder. At times he's looked OK going forward, but let's face it the chances of forging a co-operative partnership with a head-down-where's-that-blind-alley player like Stephen Hunt are pretty remote. I feel we can get more out of him - remember, he has played at left-midfield himself, including in the Premiership. But it's true, he's no Shorey yet; all he has needed is a season of 7/10 performances to walk the POTS award, which says a lot about the team's inconsistencies elsewhere.

Armstrong without a doubt. I voted him MOTM at Burnley away and saw his potential but got laughed at when phoning in the fans verdict.

He settled in fast and became steadily more consistent as the season went on. I think he's scored this season also but it might have been an alcoholic haze.

Has to be Armstrong, there is absolutely nobody that comes close. He's been solid all season despite having very little support from Hunt and having to play next to Duberry for a large chunk of the season.

It could get embarrassing when there isn't a second or third place because nobody else should get a vote!
