1960 As with Coppell losing it towards the end, but to whom we owe a huge debt, Shunt also gaves us a couple of good years. Can nobody remember when he was providing shedloads of assists for Doyle and, later, his brother to lap up? OK, maybe it's time for him to go, but I don't see any reason to be as abusive as most people on this thread.

This.

Alan Partridge
winchester_royal
Royalee Tabb, Karacan, Matejovsky and Cisse are all better in the middle than Gunnarsson.

Would rather have Gunnar in there than Cisse if i'm being perfectly honest.

Excellent 10-game spell mid season, but other than that has been shite everytime he's played, and like Kebe does not have a good footballing brain.

Cisse is the perfect example of 'one of the players Coppell bought who is no better than we had' he's ok. That's it. No better or worse than Gunnarsson but being around 10 years younger makes him far more valuable. I think Cisse could possibly make a decentish centre back butI must say I've never personally been much of a fan of his as a midfielder.

Plenty of other options in the squad and Gunnarsson add next to nothing with the current squad imo, I was very surprised to see he was offered anything.

Done with a view to get him doing some coaching I heard.

Does it involve me having to listen to him talk? - if so i dont think i can put myself through it, he always sounds like he's out of breath.

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Best news this club has had in ages and no he was never really great for this club- he had one decent spell at the club which was end of first year- start of 2nd yr in prem and the reason? Convey was injured who was always a much better crosser of the ball and had twice the quality and a player we must be gutted to have lost. Hunt has cost us dearly this season alongside Duberry and Harper and if the summer continues this way then this will undoubtedly be a very very very very good summer for us. I'd prefer to even see Robson-Kanu at left wing than Hunt :)

Anyone get the impression he thinks it's time for a fresh start  ? May as well have been waving a for sale sign about or insisting the number of his agent got scrolled along the bottom of the screen.

Won't be sad to see him go, found out too easily this season

I would be glad to see him go and Buck gets the fee to buy some young, hungry player(s). Shunt is nowhere near as good as he thinks he is and once in the Prem he will disappear as fast as an ex-Royal in a Villa shirt.

Good luck to Hunt, been a good servant to the club though he has been poorly advised at times. He came on a free transfer and is another who departs a significantly better player than when he came, and one we will come out financially better off. I think he got lucky with the Cech incident, it galvanized his career and used it to his advantage with some really good displays for the next couple of months but ever since that Sunderland bid in January 08, he's never quite looked the same player with the exception of a few months last year. Similar to Shorey really and the club will need to learn from the mistakes when the time comes about players getting tapped up within the media, because once they're not 100% focussed and committed, they are no use to us.

If and when he goes it will be sad, but the right time I feel.

No one can deny he was with us and played a hugh role in reaching the heights of thr prem and the 1st season 8th finish.

but no one can deny his performances for reading at the end of last year were poor, but early on he was playing well.

he has become a target for many fans in our so called failure this year, which to me is harsh but once that happens its time to go, bad performances do not help his cause either.

thames your comment is bang out of order you should be banned for such a stupid comment, or be humble and post an apology.

wishing someone dead is the worst low you can do, and you do it

anyways cheers for the memories if you do go, and good luck :D

no surprise that he says this after Rodgers comes in

maybe the Cabin Boy says he doesn't want him here and now Hunt has said this to get a move

Rodgers has said he's all about respect......so maybe Hunty will know he'll get found out for having no respect for the club.

Rodgers
Roger the Cabin Boy.

Except of course the cabin boy in Captain Pugwash wasn't called Roger, he was called Tom iirc.

That thought hits the nail on the head. Due respect does seem to be a quality lacking in S Hunt.
