Ashdown's been out of the pic far too long at Pompey. Plus isn't DJ injured at the moment.

Just think Ashdown's been in his comfort zone. Fed's ok, not perfect and makes mistakes, but who doesn't at this level??

Can't rememeber the last time I was excited going into the end of a transfer window...

Rodgers admitted he is frustrated to have lost out to Pompey on the signing of Smith, saying: “It was ever so close, you don’t come as close as what we have. It would have taken an extraordinary deal for him to go there, but that money now allows us to get a few more players in.”

He has, however, ruled out a move for former Coventry City and Malta striker Michael Mifsud, who is currently without a club.

Right he is out of the question then.

Glad about Misfud. He really is shit. Living off his rep from score a few goals in the League Cup two years back.

Jay Simpson would have been a great choice. I reckon we might get a few youngsters and maybe someone from abroad. The Spanish B Teams have got some great players for this level, as Swansea showed last year.
