I'm cheesed off that I was hoodwinked into renewing my season ticket early,

how?

did they promise you something you have not received?

The implication was that we would continue to push for promotion. At renewal time, we were in with a good chance of promotion; the message from the club was that they were doing me a favour by letting me keep my season ticket for the same price as last year. Last year we were going to challenge to get back to the promised land, this season we are doing no such thing.

I have paid the same money this year (and early, so the money is not earning interest for me, but for the club) to watch a lower standard of football than last year, with lower expectations. Hence, hoodwinked.

BTW, your 'Shift' key appears to be broken, might want to get that looked at.

What the hell do you expect? A message on the official site saying "this year the club aims to be infuriatingly inconsistent, show a little promise but be held back by inexperience?"

Ryn I can't be bothered and won't, where the seats were to go is largely irrelevant now.

My point was that there were plans to extend the stadium, which were submitted and accepted, during summer 08, based on us surviving two years in the Premiership with sell-out seat allocation.

You should be bothered though. If you accuse people of hoodwinking and general sharp practice you could at least come up with an accurate example !

In any case your point is pretty weak. You have your seat, what does it matter to you whether there are another 6000 (empty) seats. Whilst I was totally in favour of th eexpansion when it was propsed and at the time thought the decison not to go ahead was wrong, it has been shown to have been spot on.

Would you have felt that the club had 'delivered' on it's promise if last Xmas you had seen the unveiling of the extra seats, despite there being no need for them ?

Youmay also wish to reflect that if,as you say, the expansion was to go ahead based on 2 years survival we didn;t actual meet that requirement....

If you really want to blame anyone, blame Wokingham District Council - their objection to the planning application and insistence of a traffic study introduceda delay of about 5 months into the whole process, which meant that the window of expansion in the close season was missed. The next year we were in relegation trouble and everything then was very different.

But your gripe is with Wokingham District Council - without them the expansion would have gone ahead.

Not so sure Dirk.

Even before WDC got involved there were significant issues, the cost had increased as steel had shot up in price. WDC certainly put the final nail inthe coffin but the patient was far from well already....

I guess we should all thank WDC then. The expansion wasn't needed.

And judging by the current cut-backs would probably have financially crippled the club........
