Awesome stuff Strap - Some great EP memories there.

Most recent "ecstatic" moment was Lita's goal against Middlesborough. I actually got a bit dizzy and had to sit down. Doyle's penalty against Manchester United was another great moment when as a supporter, you suddenly felt "Hang on, we can hold our own here".

The EP moments seemed to be far better though - Even a Trevor Morley overhead kick goal (Norwich at home circa 96??) warranted a South Bank carnage-fest.

I was so excited before the United game. Watched it in a Manc pub and grew in confidence as the match progressed.

I loved that first season in the prem - seems like a dream to me.

strap Right, I've dug out all the old vids I can find, (hastily removing to the garage some, er .. hem .. more esoteric ones that perhaps my wife wouldn't understand - forgot I still had those! ), and if the spine notes are to be believed I have a few gems:

Coventry Simod cup s-f pens
Reading 4-2 Wolves full live game when FSB left
RFC 2-1 Charlton 07/05/95
Reading v WHU 9/11 LC game 0-0 but won through on pens
Chelsea LC 2nd leg when we won 3-1
Maidstone at Watling St (already up on YouTube by someone w=else)
A whole raft of Midlands Today etracts borrowed from Tamworth Royal (I think???) - who still has my Tranmere v Reading 3-1 play-off tape BTW!! Tamworth - perhaps we should swap back now I can copy to DVD at last?!?

That's in addition to the club tape from 87-88 (which is dire!), and 93-94/94-95. I also have the Bolton, Walsall and Luton wembley finals.

Then there's the club DVDs from 200/01 onwards (except 04/05 when they didnlt do one).

So give me some time and I will try to start ripping and uploading. Could be a long winter!

Royals vs Maidstone links are on this thread:

EASTENDER MARKY Beating Wolves 3-0, I think, at Elm Park meaning we stayed up. Walking through Prospect Park after the game was pretty special.

Was that the one when Jimmy Quinn played keepy-uppy on the edge of the box for what seemed an eternity before spanking it past Mike Stowell?

That's the one.

Just the whole of the 93/94 season. Was a joy from start to finish and I only missed seven games home and away all season. It was the most I had ever invested - both financially and emotionally - in a Reading team. When Quinny's header went in against Brighton, I just burst into tears.

strap Have no idea how YouTube works, but have created an account and am uploading the Bolton game now. Er, I think I have infringed the copyright rules, but as the video is no longer available to purchase, nor is any profit being made by me uploading it, I'm assuming Mr Mad won't be sending the boys round!

Category = Sport, Tag = Reading FC, Title = Reading FC v Bolton Wanderers 21/04/95. Er, is that sufficient for for finding it? (Poxy internet technologiy - whatever was wrong with bloody carrier pidgeons! )

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VJa9JPKiFhI

It's up now. Came across this again ..

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JG4M8jaNDkc From about 1:30 to 2:15 is the funniest thing I've seen for bloody years!!!

MORE PLEASE!!! Strap you are a legend, these are fantastic quality and especially great for a newer fan (plastic) like myself to see. A packed Elm Park in top condition was great to see as well. URZ!

Here is my most ecstatic moment:

Blackburn away, every time they scored we fought back and equalised. THAT is the resilient Reading that I was weened on. (I know, plastic fantastic.)

Gunnarson's goal to tie it at three was the last official goal that I loved:

And for a brief fleeting moment Harper's goal that would have seen the club going on a European tour (before it was disallowed):

Thanks to BenReadingFC for uploading these and allowing me a vicarious look at what it would be like to be at the MadStad or amoung away fans at a match.

Absolutely superb. What a night. Reading were brilliant; Bolton were brilliant. One of the best games ever at EP and what a winner from Nogs, set up by the legend that was Simon Osborn. In all my years going to Elm Park, I can never recall the Tilehurst End going as apeshit as they did when that went in.

There must be an honorary award that can be presented to Strap. First up the outstanding and quite excellent stats from his enormous database. And now he is uploading shit loads of material to YOOOOOTUUUUUBE! You are a legend and a credit to Reading FC!

+1

And one day he will learn to love the wayward genius that is Jimmy Kebe...upon which he will be proclaimed to be a god amongst men. (Or a bit of a duffer - depends which way you're coming from)

I remember bumping into Dunx at the Huddersfield game. He had already put 50 on and put another 50 on after seeing us demolish Town 3-0. Bastard.

Uploading the 4-2 win v Wolves just after McGoo left us now. Sadly I don't have the 2-1 win with Archie scoring in the 93rd and 96th mins. Also I don't have the 4-3 v Plymouth.

Will need to copy my old tapes to DVD to get the real gems. Might need to wait for the w/e for Coventry in the Simod S-F. Worth the wait though I think!!

Blimey - took long enough!! BT and their "up to 8Mb" service!!! What a load of bollox! Actually achieved 700kb!!!

I have Reading v Derby and Reading v Doncaster from 85/86 and the 6-4 win at Exeter in 93/94 on VHS. Not a lot I can do with them here in the US unless I spend a shedload getting them converted.
