You just don't understand Reading Football club at all do you Woodcote.

It seems to me that if one of us does, it sure as hell isn't you :P

Argue the point then rather than edit a line.

I don't know what makes you so stupid, but it really works!

I think I've made my point in this thread.................. which is to agree broadly with the clubs' approach.

Apparently, according to you, this means I don't understand the club and makes me stupid.

I'm happy to rest my case and let time be the judge as to who is the stupid one here.

Meanwhile, and despite the results, this campaign to date has been a sheer joy compared to two seasons of Coppell Dross from his under achieving (lost to both Forest and Sheff U at home plus Swansea away :| ) and over paid favorites.

David Wright is a decent player, certainly no worse than Liam 'I cant cross' Rosenior

Brendan Rodgers has made three deadline-day signings, but shipped out James Harper and Liam Rosenior to Sheffield United and Ipswich.

Midfielder Brian Howard has joined Reading for around £500,000 from Sheffield United, while Celtic centre-back Darren O’Dea has joined on loan until January.

Another player, a right-back, is yet to be unveiled by the club.

Experienced 28-year-old midfielder Harper joins the Blades on a season-long loan and 25-year-old right-back Rosenior has signed for Roy Keane’s Ipswich, also on a season-long loan.

Both players are out of contract in the summer and look to have played their last games for Reading.

I suppose he couldn't write I haven't got a f*cking clue what is going on, Hammond's phone is going through to voicemail and I have a back page to fill tomorrow  .

Why on earth would we release Harper who Wolves were bidding £2M for for free and yet still pay Sheffield Unt £500K for Howard. This is bizarre.

The same may apply to Rosenior unless it is a straight swap for Wright.

The only reason the Ivar and Bryn are still with us is to help nurture The SIg. Otherwise they would have gone the same way as Harps and Rosie.

I have a really bad feeling about this season. This smacks too much of 87/88. At least we had the Simod Cup to distract us back then. What do we have now???

They bid £2m then he failed (well did not impress anyway) a medical. They may have still been interested (probably for a reduced price) until Harper talked himself out of it.

So no £2m bid any more.

In what way?

On the day he was appointed he said ""Promotion will be talked about but my ambition is much more than that. This club has been managed exceptionally well over the last 20 years. It is run on very sound business principles and the aim is to be a sustainable club in the top flight." No timesacle mentioned - perfectly reasonable statement, and we wouldn't want anything less from a new manager.

Before the Forest game he was asked where he thought fans should pitch their ambitions this season and he answered that his own expectation was to be around the play-offs.

In the interview today he said "I am not frightened to say that we want to be in and around the top 6."

There are no contradictions there, however hard you might look.

On talk sport tonight, they said the Rosenoir move broke down at the last minute, with reference being made to a family bereavement.

If this is already in another thread, then apologies but cba to trawl through, so whoosh away saddo's :)
