Norfolk Royal Unless my mind is playing tricks on me I thought Madejski said there were 40,000 Thais who live in Reading. That sounded a bit  to me but if that is true we should be selling the ground out every week.

Bearing in mind the town's population is somewhere near the 160k mark, I'd say lay off the Shrooms fella.

I'd say you owe me an apology.

If he did say that then apology offered, but if you believed him then my comment is valid.

I'd reckon he means in England. There were 35k here in 2009, apparently, up from 16kish in 2001.

Poor old coot doesn't even know what he's saying anymore.

Why do people think he wears a wig?

He has a very weird haircut, being more of a comb-outwards than a comb-over, but they very fact you can quite clearly see his scalp should make it blinding obvious that he doesn't wear a wig.

True at times but it doesn't stop him trying to speak for others. Question asked of Kunying Sasima regarding her ambition for the club. The 'old coot' immediately lept in with 'Do you mind if I answer that' and, before anyone could say different, spouted off with his 'prudence' philosophy. To make matters worse, he concluded with a rhetorical 'that's what Kunying Sasima thinks, isn't it?' Camera panned to Kunying Sasima who didn't look particularly happy at being told what she thought!

In amongst all the highly amusing jibes, does anyone have any idea of what position the take over is at just seems to be a never ending saga at the moment ? are we gong to be celebrating our new found wealth soon or lamenting a second takeover mishap ?

Still with the Football League for fit and proper tests - I guess as a few of them it is taking longer - confirmed on Get Reading webchat earlier.

Interesting and possibly worrying info I got from Mirko Slujukic. He has been reliable re T/O in the past. He doesn't specify which Government though, UK or Thai.

@RobinBendall: @msljukic3 Did one of the key Thai investors pull out of the deal as rumoured a few days ago, hence little money?

@msljukic3: @RobinBendall No 1 knows who really he is & his source of income. After f&p test further investigation will follow behind the scene by Govt.

Why would either government put any resource into this ?

It's up to the people involved to show they pass the F&P test, not for the FL or anyone else to prove they don't. If they haven't shown the necessary proof of funds etc they fail the test. No one would do any investigating.

So another aspect of life ditches the "innocent until proven guilty" philospohy that has served these islands so well since 1215?

Would it not be more appropriate for the FL to set out a series of minimum requirements they believe are required for a person(s) to be considered a "fit and proper person(s)", and then ask the prospective person(s) to illustrate how they will meet these requirements? I appreciate that this may well sound the same as what you are saying, but there is a subtle difference here.
