Scutterbucketz Selling to Couhig will put a stop to his claim for loss of future profits, however trumped up they were. I’d imagine if you take that into account the Couhig deal is now more valuable than the Platek one.

Would literally take anyone the EFL deems fit above Dai now.

This. People saying they don't want Couhig are nuts. I just want the club to start next season and Couhig would provide that.

100%. Also, I think a couple of posters called this much earlier in this thread.

I refuse to believe that anyone in our fanbase are thick enough to be picky over who buys the club. I'd welcome Putin at this stage - anything to get rid of Dai and secure the immediate safety of the club.

Can we give it a few years before we commit? We’ve been here before. Consider us the damaged goods side of the relationship that will need to be convinced that we won’t get hurt again.

Yes, still remember the flag with "Live Fast, Dai Yonnge" on - which sadly, did not age well

I'll wait until he flogs off Bearwood

If he does and finds a cheaper suitable alternative, more power to him.

No, fukk this. I’ve heard so much about fukking Bearwood these past few years that I am now prepared to die if someone else tries to take control of it.

Bearwood is now RFCs Dome of the Rock on Sindlesham Temple Mount . If any pcunt fukks with it in any way then Reading fans everywhere will unleash Holy Jihad on their ass. I’ll personally encourage my children to suicide bomb any developers who think it might serve better purpose as a housing estate or a massive new B&M.

I'm afraid you are excommunicated from the cult of Couhig and will be barred from the Couhigian Principality of Reading forever. Should you or 10 generations of your family set foot on its hallowed soils, you will be hanged, drawn and quartered, then burnt and scattered alongside the ashes of Dai Yongge on the banks of the Kennet.

Could you keep this away from the Kennet? Don't need any unnecessary contamination

Mid Sussex Royal Club talking to an alternative bidder as Platek exclusivity is up.

Confimred by Earnshaw

Club have confirmed exclusivity with original party (Platek) is up but 'are now in advanced dialogue with an alternative bidder.'

https://x.com/james_e1871/status/190988 ... 41479?s=61

We must all hope the alternative bidder is Couhig as he’s the only one with a firm bid in place.

So maybe stop the Couhig hate? Now that Platek has proven to be vapourware

Update on official site - confirmed then - Platek out and Couhig back

Reading Football Club would like to provide a further update on the ongoing sale process.

Since the last statement dated 27th March, the exclusivity period with the prospective buyer has now expired, and club representatives are now in advanced dialogue with an alternative bidder. Negotiations between the parties are proceeding in a professional and positive manner, with full recognition from all concerned of the need to bring a sale of the club to a conclusion for all stakeholders, including players, staff and supporters.

Following a request from the club, last week the EFL extended the time allowed for Mr Dai to divest his interests in the club until 22 April. The parties are working to complete negotiations at the earliest opportunity and expect to meet the EFL’s requirements. In the interim, the club has taken steps to ensure that the ongoing financial obligations, including taxes and payroll, will be met in full. As matters progress, the club will issue additional information accordingly.

Club statement.

Buyer with exclusivity has gone away.

Alternative buyer is negotiating.

We can all join the dots and say Platek got scared off by Couhig, who is now proceeding.

I mean, it wouldn’t be nuts to assume the Platek deal was never credible in the first place (Platek himself might have been serious - who knows - but DY’s record suggests these periods of exclusivity never convert to a sale). If anyone has found a strategy to prise the club out of DY’s crooked grip and end the cycle of bogus negotiations, that seems worthy of admiration.

So, judging by all previous statements - it's Couhig who was just a Dai signature away from owning the club.

Say what you will about him, but he's worked hard (and smart) to acquire the club.

Smart stuff, and if we go up via the playoffs and are stable then the value of the club will increase quickly.

I'm having some humble pie for breakfast today as it's looking very much like Couhig will buy the club after all. My source is telling me, whilst they haven't been officially told, it's almost certainly him. I know, nothing that hasn't been said multiple times on here already - but thought i'd add another confirmation.

Of course, the big question is will RC play hardball and reduce his previous offer on the basis that he will drop the court case?

If the sale proceeds he has no legal case as he has no loss.

But part of the case was about breaching exclusivity which is still relevant

Best result for you know who too, do what he ******* well should have done last September and get rid of another possible expensive failure in court in June as well.

Let’s all hope that Rob’s PR in recent weeks is all truthful, honest heart on the sleeve stuff.

Certainly will be great to have an owner who actually talks to people rather than the 8 years of stony silence we’ve had with YKW.

He’ll probably settle on a price less all his costs suffered due to YKW’s messing about during negotiations.

Elm Park Kid Re: Couhig. Obviously none of us know what was really going on with him. But he clearly wasn't a 'chancer' or some joker looking to use this to increase his publicity. He put £5m into the club, was working from Bearwood and was taking key decisions. He's still got the picture from outside the training ground as his profile pic. He clearly thought that the deal was going to go through. Maybe he misjudged the situation and thought he could get away with a low-ball offer, that's business at the end of the day and if he thinks he can't buy the club at a price he can make a profit from in the future then can we really blame him? Ultimately the only way he could make money would be leaving us in a better situation than he found us.

I suggested in an earlier post that maybe Dai has found a new revenue source and decided to hang on to the club for a better price in the future. That didn't go down too well here. But I did say that an indication of this would be if he paid off his EFL fines. . . . .

I think that Dai pulled as the paperwork would have been drawn up over months. He would have been well aware of payment schedules and conditions.

I would suggest waiting a few months (January?) and then “miraculously” Couhig and Dai will have resolved their differences and the same deal is back on again…

So it looks I got the month wrong last September 8)

Ok but his claim is the breach of exclusivity caused him to miss out on buying RFC. If he buys it anyway, there is no loss.
