No but it's certainly true that he's a slow healer!

And, to be controversial, I question whether he's really up for the relegation battle.

And if that winds him up and makes him work even harder to get back and prove his doubters wrong, then good!

And the indignity of it all is that we had to listen to all his positivity about the team that you can barely call him part of on the BBC Berks post match interviews. After that shambles yesterday i wouldn't have spared anyone the time to add their optimism when it's not being displayed on the pitch or they havenot sat in the cold for 2 hours.

He has done nothing this season to push for a place. Prolly past it now unless we squeeze one more season out of him in the Championship

JR will not play again for Reading in the Premiership
He will however take a 1 year contract next season if we go down, this from someone v.close to the club
But only if MD is not here

Jay o/ it doesn't matter if it's true or not, but what worries me is if we do go down .......... Without even looking at the rest of the team, up front we could be in a very bad position.

and we aren't for the next 3 games?

Need to totally rebuild our striking positions anyway, looking at what we've got at the moment in the main squad I'm happy for all to leave apart from Le Fondre. Blackman has just signed so he won't go anywhere - presuming his future is as a striker.

At the end of the season we'll have 3 months to sort something out one way or another, depending on what league we're in, therefore don't see any of it as an issue.

So bring in two more strikers to go alongside Alf, then that'll mean Alf, "Ron" (Blackman) + 2 others and also Samuel as the bright and hopeful youngster.

Injury update on official site : http://www.readingfc.co.uk/news/article/roberts-update-270213-682690.aspx?
Jason Roberts "It's going slowly with the hip - there's no time scale on it but as soon as we possibly can do we will do," he said. "We'll keep working hard on the training ground to get it right.

"It's been very slow but that's the nature of the injury - it's not a cut and dry one. We're working as hard as we can to get it right."

Now, my mates nan had her hip replaced and was back walking the next day.

Given his age, should Reading have considered this for JR?

Id be pleased if we can convince either charlie austin or jordan rhodes to join us, not sure why they would make a lateral move though. Alf, blackman, Rhodes/austin, samuel and one more i would be pleased with.

Austin might be a viable move, whether we stay up or not; depends if he fancies a season or two at a smaller PL club, or is happy to enhance his reputation further in the Championship.

Rhodes won't move sideways, and even if he wanted to, Blackburn would want to recoup all of the £8m they paid for him plus a bit more. Can't see us spending £10m on a single player in the Championship, especially given many (and presumably the club) thought he wasn't worth £6m last summer.

I think either would need us to be in the prem. Would rather Rhodes purely because he creates more of his own. Austin looks great but many of his goals are poached after a goalie saves a shot or it comes off a post or gets blocked. His positioning for the rebounds is superb and his technique is very effective but it often relies on others taking shots. Something he can't rely on at Reading.

Injury Update...Rehabilitation has not been successful...seems at this point Surgery is our only option..meaning my Season is over! #gutted

That's another goodbye then, because he wont get a new contract under BM.

All the hype and madness about Jason Roberts this season have been undeserved. He hasn't scored a goal and in my opinions didnt play too well when he was in the team! All he seems to be is a big mouth and a player who tries to make himself out as a "helping hand" and a "saviour" when he's never been prolific or magnificent in the premier league. Probably earning far more than deserved - move on and let him go asap

Fondly remembered for last season then never made an impact after that, a bit like Lee Nogan...

Cheers anyway Robbo.
