Why would we want him? He's not a patch on Rodgers.

over the last 24 hours the big movers in the betting seem to be adkins, advocaat and coppell. I cannot believe that adkins could be seen as a better replacement to brian, nor that the club would go back to Coppell. with dick advocaat being close friends with anton this could have legs....really do not want adkins or di canio...

Divvy
LoyalRoyal22 Royal lady  .. The tactics we are trying to move on from started with Coppell, would be a terrible choice for manager.

Sorry what? Under Coppell we got promoted and stayed up by playing bloody good football. We had a holding midfielder and a creative midfielder, plus we exposed sides with quality wing play with supporting wing-backs. McDermott's football is nowhere near as good. It's far more workman like, and more direct, making up for a lack of quality in midfield. In fact the two teams cannot be further apart.

And once we were found out we didn't have a "plan b"

Do you think, in ten years from now, mans will be wondering why Darren Caskey was the next big thing?

Sorry can you or anyone for that matter explain why Adkins would be bad? Genuinely confused.

Doubt there will be any movement on a new manager until Monday at the earliest, but with a 2 week break after Saturday, might be another week after that or .Reckon Anton & co will allow Dolan to concentrate on the Man Utd game without the distraction of any speculation.

Also looking forward to any manager that happens to be at the game getting linked to the job.

Because it's incredibly difficult to completely change a team's style of play? The Rogers experiment failed, genuinely confused why people think Adkins would be any better.

Ok Adkins has a completely different style of play does he? Seems like an attacking style much like ours has been. I would hope that any decent manager would be able to make the most out of the players available. So you and Adkins bashers are looking for a manager who has the exact same style of play as us? The style tried, tested, and failed at this level with the players with have? Hell why don't we get Brian back. Very confusing.

Nothing at all confusing about wanting a man with a good record though. Rodgers btw had a nonsense record which is why I was one of the who hated his appointment. I was rather obvious he'd be clueless.

I actually want curbs so I have no attachment to Adkins joining, I'm just interested to see hear both views, but in my view I've not heard a single worthy argument against Adkins yet.

Not bashing Adkins or wouldn't complain if he became our manager but I feel he's similar to McDermott. Yes granted he done wonders at Scunthorpe and Southampton but so did McDermott with us, add to that he's spent about £20 million and they're only just above us.

Be better than Paulo "Nazi" Di Canio!! :D

Adkins wouldn't be the top of my list but we could do much worse.

I am far more impressed with what he did at Scunthorpe than at Southampton as it was on an almost non existant budget. At Southampton he blew a lot of money.
