No way was McCarthy at fault yesterday.
The first was a great strike that dipped and he should have been closed down.
The second was down to Kebe leaving the space in front of him and whoever was mean't to be marking Baird.
Mariappa let Berbatov run off him for the third.

and the third was just inside the post. No fault at all for McCarthy.

Was the second one when he went walkabout from a corner? Hmm.

I prefer McCarthy at the moment as he's been playing well, but if Feds had been in goal today no doubt people would be saying that he should have done better for some of the goals.

McCarthy can't kick either.

And Feds can't/won't throw.

Might have something to do with us playing long ball football. Which makes McCarthy's inability to kick more serious to our game than Feds refusing to throw.

paultheroyal What's the comparison of goals conceded this year Feds vs McCarthy?

Thought McCarthy could of done better with 2 of them goals today.

Feds for Tuesday please.

Shut up you complete moron. Feds wouldn't have saved any of them!

So McCarthy might have made one mistake and people are already queuinh to critcise him. Talk about fickle.

This + 1 million

I've been really impressed with mcCarthy since he came in. Plus, he's waited patiently for his chance, no throwing his toys out of the pram, none of his family/friends tweeting how awful it is that he's not playing. I'd stick with McCarthy now and only replace him due to far too many cock-ups or injury. He deserves his chance.

no chance with the first, second, or third imo
commands his area- claims and punches well around his six yard box, throws it out more often, kicking average, shot stopping decent

I think he could have saved Baird's, but it would have been a slice of luck and a world class save to do it. So I feel no need to be disappointed he didn't. Can't even remember Berbatov's properly given it went in during crazy time.

Kicking is the least important thing and the easiest thing to work on/get better at. He's at a good club for that to be honest.

I thought he could of made more of an attempt to save the second and third, but overall he did pretty well particularly with his punches and coming for crosses.

He's not done anything to get dropped, compared to Feds 3 howlers.

Pack your f/cking ute Federici and p|ss off back to Alcatrazia. Only needed one more nail for the coffin and you managed seven in one f/cking game.

There is ZERO chance of Fed being in goal on Sunday unless McCarthy is injured.

And which would McCarthy have saved?!

As I've said on another thread, it wouldn't have mattered which keeper we played (watch the game again without the blinkers and you will see Feds made some great saves at pretty critical times), they would would have conceded 7. It was the outfield players, not the keeper, who were to blame last night.

Buggered if I'm watching it again to check, but I thought he took his eye off the hardly bullet-like Giroud header and just wafted at thin air as the ball floated past him.

Tho' the first goal was well-taken, keepers are told to stay big and Feds went low and got chipped

The Chamak 20 yarder looked saveable

He could have done better with the Giroud header

He was slow off the ground for one. In the past he would have been up in a flash.

Not saying he SHOULD HAVE saved any of them, but I think better keepers
might have got to a few of them
