Linden Jones' Tash
Royal Monkey The one signature left to be signed is Rob Couhigs.
A table will be set up on the pitch and he will sign in front of the fans on Saturday! It’s gonna be pandemonium!!

If this is the case and time that could be spent securing playing staff & planning etc is being focused on a performative signing event, then more fool him...

It’s not one or the other. They can make the signing an ‘event’ and still be talking to players and agents . Couhig is funding the club already, he’s not going to be sitting on his hands doing nothing pending his own signature being put on a document

Aren’t these things all done by Docusign type of online apps these days? Don’t think businesses would be able to cope with actual physical documents these days. Guarantee if they try a “on the pitch” signing they won’t have a working pen in the place.

Any on the pitch signing will be purely symbolic and performative, not the actual contract

ITKs, including our very own Elm Park Kid, have all been saying "before Friday". So that would imply today.

Or will we be back on repeat of these reports coming and going and nothing happening? Except "nothing" won't happen this time, we'll be kicked out of the EFL instead.

I'm not an expert with these things- but given the situation, if he's doing as you suggest without being officially the owner of the business, that seems foolhardy- we've been here before....

If it's a done deal, then shouldn't it be made clear already...

Either way, if it's a big pantomime, but we retain the core squad we all want to see remain at the Mad Stad, I'll shut up...

I’m not too sure what is foolhardy here.
We’ve had various people funding the club short term over the sale period.
Couhig probably won’t be actually committing to new player contracts but no reason he can’t be having preliminary conversations, looking at budgets etc. he’s probably got a veto on club expenditure and if he has a contract with Dai’s signature on he’s in an almost unassailable position.
It’s probably similar to buying a house. Before you complete you can still go and measure up for carpets and curtains, you can look at who gives you the best broadband deal, you book your removal company. All might cost you if your purchase does collapse but need doing before you have legal ownership because leaving them until you have the keys is just not practical.

Rob Couhig should watch a bit of WWF if he thinks an official contract signing is going to result in anything other than Dai Yonnge power bombing him through a table.

Hmm - I imagine that only RC will be present at the signing and not DY - just think of the reaction to DY. Would he make it off the pitch?

It would be nice if Dai Yongge and Couhig both came on and shook hands after signing the contracts. Reading fans can then show some appreciation for Dai's efforts and wish him luck for his next adventure.

This. Whatever you think of Dai, his heart has always been in the right place and he deserves a good send off.

Hmm - I think there maybe a lot of people in attendance who wouldn't share that view!

Why? is he not popular or something? We owe our Premier League quality training ground to him. invested heavily for no reward.

I'd like to see him get a lap of honour with the players and present the POTS award.

You would think he will join SJM as a Life President

Huang said STAR had invited him to join as one of the travel coordinators
