Good luck to you lot this season

by ITFC_Keane » 07 Aug 2010 10:31

From an Ipswich fan who kind of wishes he wasn't at the moment. Threadbare squad, manager who isn't such a huge draw as we all thought, and a lack of quality signings means that we'll probably be down by March. Sorry for the doom and gloom when a ball is yet to be kicked.

I think you'll be top six this season. You, Brizzle City with Coppell, 'Boro, Burnleh, Forest and Sheffield United (not necessarily in that order) are my top 6 this season. You've kept pretty much the same squad as last season, and your manager is getting the hang of what's required. Good luck to you.

Cheers :) I think you'll be fine this season, especially if you sign Chopra. I reckon he'll score a hatful again this year.

Ta,

I have a mate who's an Ipswich fan and really bare you no malice.

However, I hope you lose your first 6 or 7 games. I have a wager on that Grade A tosser you have for a manager being first out of a job.

Good luck after that though

Thanks for the good wishes and all the best to Ipswich this season.
Ipswich have always been a nice club, apart from the years when you employed that cheating bastard Magilton, of course.

Cheers!

My boss is an Ipswich fan and I've got nothing against them. Hope to see you back to a midtable rebuilding mission. Though the sooner you get rid of Keane the better IMO.

Not sure we'll be top six but I'm hoping we won't be too far from it.

LoyalRoyal22 thanks for the best wishes. Don't think many Ipswich fans had that down as an away win. Still, we'll take it!!

Connor will be a very good player when he learns to do the 'bread and butter' bits of the game that all strikers need to learn. He's only 17, and to be fair to Keano, I don't reckon he will be put under the same type of pressure as, say, Rooney or Owen had at a similar age and at much bigger clubs. He's currently injured after a pre-season training ground knock and will be out for around another 4 weeks. We're signing Jason Scotland, the ex-Swansea bloke who scored for fun in this league two seasons ago, and possibly Chopra (if the bloke and Cardiff ever make their minds up) so, with Priskin and possibly Stead staying, we'll have enough cover up front for Connor not to have to play.

Another Sheringham? Hmmmm. He reminds me more of Dean Ashton, the ex-scummer and West Ham player, now sadly retired. He's also got a bit of the Nicky Forster's about him, in that he can anticipate a chance well and is usually in the right place (he's about ten million yards quicker than Foz though, who, no disrespect, came to us from you looking like he'd enjoyed a few decent curries). I don't think Connor holds the ball up that well yet. He'll learn, and will become a better player for it. One of the things I admire Keane for is his willingness to teach these kids to become better players and, when they show they're ready, to play them if good enough. Youth is our, and probably yours as well, future. We're not gonna pay £15 million for a player, even in the Prem.

Yeah. Foz came to us at the arse end of his career, really. Is he still playing? Know he went to Brighton, any idea where he is now?

He scored some good'uns in Royle's last season. Respect to the bloke. Good pro.
