Deadline Day

by roadrunner » 31 Aug 2010 15:46

Madejski speaking after confirming Gylfi Sigurdsson's departure - "Very importantly, with this manager, staff and players, we remain competitive in this division and following Gylfi's departure we will add new players to the squad."

What time does the transfer window close?

IN

Khizanishvili - season long loan.
Harte

But loans are still possible for a further week, or is it longer?

update from RFC Press Office - previous statement by Chairman was incorrect it should say....

"Very importantly, with this manager, staff and players, we remain competitive in this division and following Gylfi's departure we will add very cheap new players to the squad, preferably on loan, as im not into commitment"

Club confirm 1 more to sign

BBC Sport's Jonathan Stevenson As for Ian Harte - Reading just confirmed to me they are expecting one in late doors and though they wouldn't mention Harte by name, he's where the safe money is."

Lovely to see him chillaxing on deadline day in Nandos at the riverside with Miss Rigby. I suspect he's staying with Reading. WOOHOO :)

Yadda yadda. Think Chris Makin and it's a decent signing I think. Plus he's a good free-kick and corner kick taker, pen taker, scores a few with that lefty of his as well. It's not a bad signing.

If we seriously lose our top goalscorer for over £6mil and just sign two defenders for a total of just £50,000 this club is in extreme trouble this season. Really we need a new striker AND attacking midfielder in my opinion but at the moment to get one of those looks like it would be good
