by Elliott » 31 Aug 2010 19:15

I know it's early, but now we know our squad for the year... why not?! :)

Federici

Griffin - Kiz - Mills - Harte

Kebe - Karacan - Howard - Mcanuff

Church - Hunt

Looks alright to me!

And also looking forward to seeing Kebe DESTROY this "Davids" guy Palace have brought in

How can we possibly lose with Federici in goal and Long up front?

Stick Harte on the left wing so he can utilise his crossing ability to supply chances for Hunt and therefore no need to worry about his lack of pace at the back although Williams has a lot of improving to do yet. Kebe to replace the goals of Sigurdsson behind Hunt.

Or....if that doesn't work take off Williams at half time and stick Harte at left back. Push Kebe back to the wing and give Scott Davies the chance behind the striker.

I'm not keen on changing a winning team, but I'd be tempted to risk this. Zurab being our sweeper (don't worry, I wouldn't have him leaving our half!) I'd play him to strengthen Jem and Howard. The amount of times teams go through the heart of our midfield, would be lovely to have a hard man right in the centre again.

....but any money, Long will start unfortunately.

URZZ Zurab being our sweeper

Not to get all tactics geek on you, but that's like turning up at a party and asking for Bezique.

Haha, in my defense I did say

URZZ I'd be tempted to risk this.

I'd only play him ever so slightly in front of defence, just so Howard and Jem can go forward more freely.

^ With you on that team Lew ...with Karacan in midfield...and yes I think it will be 4-4-2 and Pearce will start ahead of Kish.

He obviously needs to go back and play it some more because he doesn't know what a sweeper is...

Griffin and Gunnarsson are injured.

I'd prefer hunt to play the gylfi role and long or church to play on the shoulder of the last defender tbh. Hunt is more suited and you can get the most out of longs hold up play or churches runs
