IMHO started first 20 mins well pressing well up the field, Swansea make a change and suddenley we look like the away team, no ideas, prob 2-3 attempts ontarget max

Griffin, Harte, Long, Feds played well Hunt looked hungry when he came on.

The rest, poor

As for Jobi did not look like he wanted to be there at all and def not a replacement for Gylfi in the hole. Also thought Amstrong and HRK were well below average

Swansea fans were in good voice and nice moment when Brenda responded to give us a wave chants

Not the worst game I've ever seen. could have nicked one at the end but other than that didn't really deserve anything from the game.

Despite the BBC claiming 3 attempts on target, I can only remember one genuine such attempt - Jobi's freekick in the first half!

That is completely unacceptable for a home game, as is the tactic of playing poor old Long up front on his own, hoofing the ball forward to him and then not having anyone in position to take advantage of him winning the ball in the air.

If Ego Madejski and his poodle still genuinely believe we do not need a striker, then the lunatics clearly have taken over the Mad House!

As McDermott commented after the game, Rodgers 'spent money on Scott Sinclair who looks a very good player'. Well Brian it's time you started pointing out things like that to your tight-fisted chairman who is still squatting on the very considerable ill-gotten gains from encouraging The Sig to move on.

On final thought: Shorey to Harte - such is the 'progress' under the brilliant financial management of Madjeski and co!

Thought we were outplayed today and never really looked like scoring. Harte got rinsed most of the time by Dyer. Everytime I see the lad play he always impresses. Thought we should of brought Howard in midway through the second half in place of Stretch so we could get hold of the ball a bit more.

Shame we only really seemed to do anything with the ball in the final third during the last ten minutes. McAnuff i don't think was at the races today but every now and then showed glimpses of what we frustratingly know he can do. Dyer was too much for Harte, every single time - my idea would have been to bring Hunt on for Harte and move Armstrong to left back and reshaping the midfield a bit. Thought their number 8 (?) did a good job of deceiving the referee and making some late tackles today, wasn't impressed. Must say though, Mills and Zurab did well today IMO - shame about them being caught out of position for the chances Swansea had - that must be worked on. All in all i think 0-1 was probably fair despite our end to the game, improvements (and a speedy striker) needed IMHO.

Reading utterly outplayed for 60 minutes, should have been 3-0 down and didn't manage a decent shot on target all game playing the same predictable hoofball tactics which will only get you so far. Shown up for having a slow defence and no long term vision.

I'm really not convinced by Harte. His crossing from corners is crap.

Business as usual for Rodgers - Reading home defeat.

Whatever he does subsequently won't stop him being one of if not the worst Reading manager in history.

Whatever you say Schards, keep telling yourself McDermott's the bald Mourinho as yet another Matt Mills hoof bounces off of long to their centre back.

He was never that. He had his legs firmly chopped away by Madejski and those advising him.

Are you fecking kidding me!!!!

The only players to come out with any credit were Karacan, Feds, Harte and Jobi. Jobi was all over the place trying to make things happen, Karacan was his usual busy self, feds was solid and harte was assured at the back (nothing he can do about being beaten by pace).

What game were you watching mate!!

The rest were dire. Griffin to a lesser extent.

I simple comparison of the two's records at Reading is all the is needed.

We weren't awful, we were simply outplayed in every part of pitch. They looked like they wanted it and we didn't - we looked like the mid-Championship team that we are. Dyer should've had a hat-trick. We must close down players better than we did today too. And we can't afford to squander the (few) chances we were given.

Whoever is writing for the OS today must be on drugs. The 'official' match report starts: "The Royals were on top for the majority of the game, but couldn't find that elusive goal."

Brian, please bring in a f*cking striker on-loan FFS.

Swansea outplayed us for the majority of the game. Why did he drop Cummings?

And go 4-4-2.

Certainly agree about 4-4-2. Surely as the home team we should be looking to dictate to our opponents rather than worry about their formation and trying to match it. Our record this year in home League games playing 4-4-2 is exceptional and yet even with Siggy gone we still play 4-5-1.

feels like I went to a different match as I thought we were ok (same as previous games i.e. scrappy) with maybe a few more mistakes than usual.

Swansea played the ball about well in their own half but struggled to really create other than on the counter attack. One meaningful (counter) attack in the first half in which they scored and a two minute spell in the 2nd half in which they should have doubled the lead. Outside of that they were no threat.

We had 3 decent chances late on, all headers and all woefully finished. Delivery again today was poor hence lack of chances.

When will they see the light with McAnuff...no end product

We were after him long before Rodgers took over if you read Hammond's quotes.
