IN - or NOT?

by Svlad Cjelli » 10 Nov 2010 23:22

So, do you hoinestly think the ball crossed the line?

And where did you see it from?

I do - from West Lower G5.

Seen a paused image, I'm not sure, but leaning towards over, certainly close enough it's hard to be pissed off with the lino.

Y24 and seeing it live - NO.

However, just watching it on sky sports news its shocked me how close it was to being in.

The photos on here do not give a fair reflection, because i have managed to pause it when ball bounces up from hitting the line and it looks like its 2 feet in because of the angle of camera and flight of the ball.

After seeing the tv footage, i have calmed down, and accept a 1:1 draw.

Y24 and we were all certain that it hadn't gone in. Quick glimpse on SSN in the pub afterwards and was somewhat surprised how close it was to the line. No slo-mos though. The picture on t'other thread does give the lino some credence. :x

Didn't look like it had crossed the line from the middle of the East stand. Didn't even think it had been given until
i saw Cardiff celebrating.

At the time I thought it was clearly in, then I was persuaded otherwise.

Watching the slow-mo's I'd say it was in, yup.

At the time, from the B14 (finally some pizza!), it looked as though it hit the bar, straight onto the post and out. Not sure how it could hit the bar, then post, some how cross the line and come back out again. Doesn't make sense really. So I'd say not over.

I haven't seen a replay yet.

No idea, was in Y20 so other end of the ground, i looked straight over at the lino and he flagged straight away no hesitiation so i presumed it was way in. I guessed that as it hit the bar/post twice that the spin on it the 2nd time would have taken it in.

Seen it on telly I would sway towards saying it probably wasn't in but you can't be sure either way. The linesman must have been sure at first glance that it had gone in.

Unfortunate decision for Reading but as Dellor said on the radio, people make mistakes and in Long and Church they both made mistakes in the game and nothing has been made of that post game from the management. Always like to look at yourself first and I can think past those 2 chances which would have buried Cardiff. They didn't have 2 goals in them tonight on that performance and either of those efforts go in it's game over.

Shame because I thought Reading edged it, deserved to win. Still a decent point though.

Yes but the lino is still a twat for missing the blatant push on Kish just before when it was right in front of him so Mac and Gibbs were wound up with him already so he probably thought sod them and gave it on that basis. He could not have been sure.

The law states that the whole of the ball needs to cross the line. Who would be a lino?
