Looking up or Looking down?

by roadrunner » 30 Nov 2010 19:59

I've felt all season with our shot shy strikers that we're a mid-table team this season, but a glimpse at the ever unpredictable Championship table see's Reading just 4 points off the Play-offs, but also only 6 points off the bottom three.

The all important Chistmas period is almost amongst us. I don't expect to see us any closer to the play-offs when we go into the new year, I just hope we aren't as close to the bottom three either.

December

Sat 11 Coventry City (H)

Much more winnable set of matches ahead. Hoping we might be in the top 6 come the New Year.

There will be no signings if we are in the top 6 come new year!

Really?

Derby and Coventry have got their best sides for years, Bristol City are improving every week, and Hull and Sheffield Utd away are not gimme's either.

After ok but not inspiring results against some of the best in the division this month we need to push on against these teams. However, we seem to be blaming our inability to make the chances count on referees and luck at the moment so I'm not feeling too confident. I reckon we'll pick up enough points to stay where we are but nothing really to make us look like we'll push on.

Sat 4 Sheffield Utd (A) Nice 0-4 win here and then we'll see.

Sat 11 Coventry City (H)
Sat 18 Derby County (A)
Sun 26 Bristol City (H)
Tue 28 Hull City (A)

I fancy three wins, and if we're lucky, four with a probable defeat at Derby (but maybe we get lucky there too)
and maybe we'll only draw with either Brizzle or Coventry

We need a solid win to nil at Sheffield to kick-start it.

I think we'll beat Brizzle unless James has a blinder.

Coventry, dunno. They are a new force under their new boss.

We have a real chance of 5 wins if we play at our current best.
