Drop Harte

Don't post on here much, think you're all a load of obnoxious twats.

McDermott seriously needs to drop Harte and bring back Armstrong who has proven to be a rock. Harte has cost us too many goals.

i agree, he's far too slow, constantly harasses to the officials (don't like that it's not our way - we're not f*cking Leeds) and his set piece wizardry appears to have been very much over played.

also p*ss off

It is time to change the back four. We have let in some dreadful goals of late. Norwich's winner was another case in point. A cross that should have been cut-out well before Holt got anywhere near it....and Harte should have been able to block Holt from scoring that goal.
We need more pace in the back four. Cummings has to come back in even if its at left-back.

McD has recently lauded our "rock solid" defence but at the moment it certainly is not. Problem with Harte is the other defenders have to cover for him, which drags them out of position. It would be ok if he was contributing more goals and or excellent set pieces but he isn't enough. Also I dont like his attitude, gesturing to the crowd, feigning death for Holts red card and harassing the refs is not something a senior pro should be doing. Cummings in please

Also Pearce back in

At last people have wisened up to what some of us were saying 5 months ago.
The manager really has a massive blind spot about this player (because he bought him and failed with Williams his other left-back buy?) and I feel really sorry for Armstrong who has had an almost totally wasted half-season.

He did an important job when he was signed, helping to stabilise a struggling defence when we didn't have a whole lot of other options. But I agree he should be dropped now. I don't like his attitude, him Mills, Hunt and to a lesser extent Long have brought a culture of bitching and cheating to the club, and you can see it rubbing off on some of the younger players like Karacan.

I hate the way we hassle the officials, commit dirty cynical fouls all the time for no reason, wave imaginary cards and generally conduct ourselves with no class at all. I'll always be a Reading fan, but I used to be so much more proud of the club than I am now.

Ingimarsson's time has been up for ages as far as I'm concerned, so it really is time for a change. I don't mind Armstrong coming back in if he is fit and up to his old quality, but I have my doubts, so on the assumption that he isn't I'd want a back 4 of:

Cummings, Khizanishvili, Pearce, Griffin

Harte & Mills may be very good defenders, but their weaknesses (phyiscal and mental respectively) cause us so many problems. Cummings is inexperienced so he can come in on the right, with the ever reliable Griffin going out to the left. Khizanishvili's experience next to Cummings pace should hopefully work well.

Ian Harte circled in red, images from recent performance which I am sure you will remember. Notice how he appears to grow roots while everyone else runs.

Worst player in the team.

Bring back Williams or Armstrong. If Williams made 1 mistake and got dropped then Ian Harte must be indispensable.

Didn't Williams just play arse in all of his games? I'm not sure where you get one mistake from.

Difficult one this. Harte has shown in some games that he is capable, but then has showed the complete opposite in some games. He's not great, but he's not terrible either. Which is the same with most of our team really. Armstrong was quality in our play-off season, but he hasn't quite looked the same since his return, which is understandable. The problem with Harte is that he doesn't get forward enough due to his lack of pace, which means McAnuff often cuts inside and loses it. Last season when we had Bertrand he was constantly getting up and overlapping Jobi to give us another option.

Anyone know when Bertrand's contract up?

Having watched the replay of their winner several times I'm afraid that it has to be another in Ian Harte's goals against column. Regardless of the fact we had ten men, he was clearly marking Holt. What is most annoying is that he had Holt covered and then somehow lost him. He should either have put the ball out himself (yes there was a slight risk of an OG) or blocked the effort. He did neither.

The guy is more of an liability than an asset (he is not delivering enough through his reputed dead ball skills) and, added to that, his Leeds upbringing has turned him into what many might regard as a cheat. His whinging to the ref is completely unacceptable and it is about time some of them did what they are meant to do and flash a yellow at him next time he requests it for an opponent.

Incidentally, found this on a LUFC forum back in 2008:

How can he lose pace when he had none in the first place ?

'greed, I have Harte down as playing a key role in conceeding that goal... which takes him to 7 for the season, roughly the same as Khiz irrc and significantly behind Mills and Federici (who you'd expect to have the most being the keeper).
