Positive Omens

by Silver Fox » 26 Apr 2011 11:05

In our succesful (in getting to the final) playoff campaigns I was unable to attend the home legs of the semis (or indeed the away leg in '95)
In our failed campaigns I went to the home legs (even managed to go to BurnLOLey)

I will be away for both legs of this years playoffs

IN for Wembley

In that case, you can't go to Wembley - unless you also weren't there for the play-off final.

Finals aren't so clear cut I'm afraid as I was at Cardiff but not Wembley

Saw some of the second tranmere game on TV, was at Wembley
Was at the second leg against Wigan and was at Cardiff
Watched Wolves second leg on TV
Watched Burnley games on the internet.

Maybe I should just lock myself in an isolation tank until June....

because I didn't expect us to have a chance of playoffs, I am booked on buses on the 13th and 17th while I'm shlepping it up a minor hill in the Dales on the bank holiday monday.

The guy who sits next to me at the Mad Stad told me that during the week he'd been chatting to a friend and she'd said she thought Reading could be in the Premier League next season. He replied that "pigs might fly". At that very moment he saw a little china pig just lying in the road, so he picked it up and kept it because he thinks it's a sign that she could be right.

This couple are magic though. They always bring chocolate bars to the games for half time and for the last two games, they've brought Toffee Crisps and she has started hers early. As soon as she's done this, Reading have scored. Unfortunately, for the last match she'd finished it by the time Sheffield scored and they didn't have any more bars with them.

Surely we've taken less than 2k on the odd occasion??

And how many finals are you going to be in this season? You can take as many as you like to the FA Cup final and the Champions Leauge final. How many did you take to the League Cup final?

And as for the PL - it's a good job there's one decent English team who will win it at a canter (ps it's not Chelsea).

I have not washed my home shirt for ages and worn it at every game since Sheff Utd A. I did not want to wash it until we lost.
I was contemplating wearing it yesterday, however when I realised it was a certain home win I wore the white away shirt instead.
My intention being that after the three points I could give the home shirt a well earned (and overdue) wash!
My lucky shirt had a game off and look what happened  Fortunately I did not wash the good fortune out of it.

Needless to say my lucky shirt will be back out at Coventry.

So if you are next to a geezer in a smelly home shirt on Saturday, I apologise in advance. At least it will ensure a decent result.

In the 94-95 season we lost home and away to Tranmere in the league games but beat them over the 2 legs in the play offs semi finals. This season we have lost to Swansea home and away in the league games.......

I have a 94/95 home shirt and Reading have NEVER won a game when I've worn it. It will be locked in a cupboard safe from anyone wearing it from now until the season ends.
